One of the highlights of our day was potion making!
During morning group time, the children were asked, “What would you like to do today?” — and “potion making” was a very popular choice among our Junior 2 group.
Throughout the experience, the children engaged in meaningful learning through play, exploring early scientific concepts such as mixing, measuring, and observing changes. They worked collaboratively, sharing ideas, negotiating roles, and helping one another as they created their unique potions.
Potion making offers so many benefits for 4-year-olds. It supports the development of language skills as children describe their creations, builds early math and science understanding, encourages problem-solving and critical thinking, and strengthens social skills through teamwork and cooperation. It also nurtures creativity and imagination, allowing children to express themselves freely in a fun and engaging way.
It was wonderful to see their curiosity, creativity, and teamwork shining throughout the activity!

Epilepsy Awareness Day - Purple Day 26 March 2026
Purple Day is a global initiative dedicated to raising epilepsy awareness, dispelling myths, and increasing support for people living with this neurological disorder.
The idea for Purple Day came from a woman called Cassidy Megan back in 2008.Motivated by her own experiences with epilepsy, she wanted to raise awareness of the condition.
The choice of purple was inspired by lavender, which is a recognised flower for epilepsy.
The day encourages people to wear purple, share information, and participate in events to promote an understanding of epilepsy, a condition that affects millions of people worldwide.
Nursery 2 friends enjoyed being sensorily stimulated by getting
their hands and fingers into 2 very different purple experiences.
First we used cold wet light purple paint to cast our hand prints on a big purple heart. This was great fun to share the art space with each other.
Then, just to feel a different texture, we lunged our hands into purple sand. YES, PURPLE SAND! Using little vehicles, along with other interesting object, we used our imagination to create our own playful scenarios.
It was a fun way to participate in the promotion of the importance of Epilepsy Awareness Day.
Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.

Christmas Playdough Activity – Toddler One Today, the children enjoyed a festive sensory experience by making Christmas-themed playdough in different colors: green for wreaths, red for tinsel, and yellow for lights. After creating their colorful dough, the children decorated their wreaths with various Christmas decorations, adding their own creative touches.
Playdough is more than just fun—it plays an important role in supporting toddler development. Manipulating playdough strengthens fine motor skills by building hand and finger muscles, which are essential for tasks like writing and self-help skills. It also promotes hand-eye coordination as children roll, pinch, and shape the dough. This activity encourages creativity and imagination, while also fostering language development through conversations about colors, textures, and Christmas traditions. Additionally, working alongside peers supports social skills, such as sharing materials and collaborating on ideas.
Through this festive playdough experience, the children engaged in sensory exploration, creative expression, and skill-building—all while celebrating the joy of Christmas!
