Out & About Care & Education Mooloolah Valley

Our Kindergarten children enjoyed observing and learning about the life cycle of chickens. We cared for the eggs, then watched them hatch into sweet little fluffy chickens.

Some of us took them home to live with us so we can watch them grow. So cute and fabulous learning!

Pizza Day! 🍕

The children have been interested in creating their own meals, so we decided after collaboration with the children to have a pizza day. The children identified ingredients they would like on their menu and then filled in their menu cards to place their orders. Our amazing on site chef Arua got to work crafting the individual orders for the children they were then called to collect their orders from the kitchen serving bench and able to have their pizzas with their friends in the outdoor eating areas we have provided.

The children really enjoyed the variety and the opportunity to change up their daily routines with mealtimes. We love supporting the children to have opportunities for variety and agency in their learning and daily experiences.

Our educators ensure children are provided with Open-ended Materials: Using materials that allow for imaginative play and varied, self-directed use. Choice-making: Offering opportunities for children to choose their activities and learning paths. Decision-making: Involving children in establishing routines and solving problems. What a fun way to extend discussions and share knowledge and experiences.

🩷 Paint the Place Pink for Maira! 🩷

Our beautiful colleague Maira, a cherished early childhood educator from our Dalton Drive service and much-loved member of our Out & About community, is currently undergoing treatment for Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

During this incredibly challenging time, we want to come together to show our love, strength, and support – and help ease some of the financial pressure of medical expenses.

On WEDNESDAY 11th MARCH, all three of our centres will be taking part in a special fundraiser: “Paint the Place Pink for Maira”.

We invite all children and families to come dressed in pink to show their support. Cash donations will be gratefully accepted at the front office of each centre.

Let’s stand together as the beautiful Out & About community we are and surround Maira with the care and kindness she has always shown to others.

Recently the Out & About Directors Anna, Gaylyn & Brooke along with our Approved Provider Pam, attended the Chamber of Commerce February Breakfast with Janine Allis.

Janine is a renowned entrepreneur who shared her inspirational business journey, from founding Boost Juice Bars in 2000 to co-owning Yo-Chi, Australia's leading frozen yoghurt brand.

We say a fond farewell to one of our Kindergarten Teachers here at Out & About Mooloolah Valley. Kim is launching into her retirement where "everyday will be another adventure". She has been practicing her sense of adventure with us since we opened the centre 3 years ago.

We will miss her presence in our team and wish her all the best. We look forward to hearing all about her adventures to come.

We love to celebrate Book Week at Mooloolah Valley!

This is organised annually by The Children's Book Council of Australia to encourage children's love of reading. The theme this year is “Book an Adventure”.

2025 ACA National Conference - 'Emerging with Power & Purpose'.

Team members from our Maroochydore & Mooloolah Valley centres recently attended the ACA Conference on the Gold Coast.

The weekend was spent connecting with other educators from the Childcare sector, engaging in professional development opportunities and hearing from keynote guest speakers.
