Converse munching.

She loves wattles!

Chose wattle flowrrs over grevilias.

While in care these Short ear brushtail possums can have some supplement food.

She quite likes corn, sweet potatoe, or pumpkin.

We have started hiding food around her enclosure for her to find.

A lucky find is indigenous fruit in season is blue quandongs or lilly pilly. She is learning to use her wonderful hands and claws.

We are of course planning to teach her about the food in the forest here.

She will eat bark and clay too!

We give her "dirt trays" and indigenous grasses even lomandras.

She is still going to be a "joey" and with us for another few months.

She has had vusits from other possums wild and ones we have released previously.

She is gorgeous!

CONVERSE is enjoying Dianella or Blue flax illy flowers.

The kookaburra just added the nicest sound to match.

Check out the concentration and little hands!

Enoying a snack in her bed.

Enjoy.

Thank you for following her journey.

The stunning Short Ear Possum "Converse" is growing beautifully!

While she is in care we do not cuddle her.

She came in wild a "back rider sized joey".

We have however made friends which reduces her stress.

She has learnt we bring milk formula, fresh yummy plants, a few flowers occasionally and supplement food daily.

She is just beautiful.

She eats bark, jumps around, balances and is getting fit!

"Its that human again!"

Converse is finding different locations to sleep.

As i enter her aviary I offer her a snack in the form of raw peanuts.

This allows her the task of opening the nut to get the tasty snack inside.

It teaches her to use her hands and claws.

She is funny. Spitting out the bits she doesnt like.

We dont touch her, she is over 1 kg although still a joey.

I need to add fresh plants into holders, change water, give her special milk and fresh water etc.

I need to reduce her stress as we do our " aviary housekeeping" thus the distraction of snacks !

She was in the wild only 5 days ago. She has just lost her mum. She is alone.

She is doing great! Thanks for joining her on her journey back to the forest!

Enjoy.
