Tomorrow is a perfect day to
Pause. Connect. Reset 🩷❤️🩷 Silent De-Stress Retreat Day

13/05/2026

I remember the first time I held a silent retreat day. It was well over a decade ago. I allowed time for questions and comment at the start. Someone commented how nervous they were. I asked what they were nervous about, and the answer completely surprised me: "I am nervous about not talking".

This comment was so unexpected. I then asked who else was worried about this, and hands started rising around the room. About a quarter of room felt challenged by the thought of silencing themselves. I still rembember how surprised I was by this. Yet I also recognised way back then, at that very moment, how sorely silence was needed.

The day progressed. The quietude grew deeper. And so did the connection in the room. This connection was intimate and profound.

It was connection to life 'in the now'.

It was connection to each other (not in an overtly outward way, but in a personally intimate way - a synergistic way).

It was connection to Self - a remembering of Self. Deep and powerful.

At the end of they day, no one was ready to speak. They didn't want to break the magic.

Relaxed, grounded and 'truly here', every single person left grateful for the silence - not just grateful for it's gift of presence and recallibration, but also for the life lessons and self insights it offered along the way.

How often is this the case: that you want for more space, only to find yourself immediately filling it up when you've got it? Noble silence offers space by the truckloads. Gradually you acclimatise. Gradually you assimilate. Gradually you become silent spaciousness itself.

Do you know who you are beneath the veil of noise and chatter? Do you fear what you will find?

If you extend the silence long enough, and allow yourself to be gently guided into the heart of your own existance, you will discover that who you are is not to be feared, but revered.
For silence not only strips back the complexities we burdened upon the present moment, it also slowly strips back the fabricated layers we stack upon ourself - until the end of the day, we meet our unencumbered, liberated self.

If you are interested in exploring who you are in quietude, I am holding a Silent Retreat Day this Sunday. During this meditative day you will be guided through carefully curated sessions designed to restore balance to the body and mind, evoke deep relaxation, and heighten of awareness. This is a restful day - not a physical practice. The only requirement is that you can sit and lay on the floorand get back up again to soak up lots of self care.

I welcome any questions you may have.

What happens in silence?

In silence your senses become heightened and your awareness spikes. You notice more... especially yourself. When we are in constant engagement with others, preoccupied with all that's happening outside of us, we tend to miss connection with our Self ...and without self connection, it has to be asked, 'what is the quality of my connection with others?'

In silence you notice yourself 'taking up space'. You begin to fall into a natural order of life - co-existing - where there's no need for verbal "thanks, please, sorry, excuse me". A space that gives you permission to take up your space, & permission for others to be in yours.

It evokes a greater authentic connection – engagement from the level of the heart rather than hiding behind a veil of words. Silence exposes you in a way where you feel more seen!

It gives you the opportunity to sit with yourself and own your own opinions and thoughts about things happening in the moment ...without the views and influence of others input.

In silence, time goes slower, and when things slow down we can feel & connect more intimately. Silence serves as a great investment in slowing down a world that might feel to be moving too fast.

How often do you wish your head wasn't so full of thoughts? and your life wasn't so full of demands? Yet when you've got a moment of empty space, it can be so uncomfortable that you begin to look to immediately fill it up! At the same time, we actually crave space, and silence gives us some of that. And when you have it, you can observe your relationship with it. How comfortable are you with emptiness?

In the quietude of silence, there's less injecting ourselves into the moment, and more consciously allowing the moment imprint on us.... When we have become comfortable with this process, we have struck gold!

Join me for the meditative, Silent STress Detox Retreat where we strip back the created layers of personhood with each and every session — until the end of the day, we meet unencumbered liberated self.

Silent Stress Detox Day Retreat

We all need to retreat from the world occasionally. Spend a day in harmony with yourself and allow your body to regenerate. Switch off from your phone, the television, your computer, the radio, and chatter. We live in a world today where we receive more information in one day that people born 100 years ago got in a life time! How do we balance that?

This day of quiet healing is a rest for all of the senses. A period of deep silence is observed for the duration of the retreat. The energy of silence and mindfulness penetrates our flesh and bones, and calmness prevails. In Noble Silence we cultivate higher levels of hearing, perception, and vision.

Carefully curated sessions are designed to restore balance to the body and mind and heighten the experience of relaxation and awareness. Complemented with aroma therapy, such sessions include:

🔸 Mantra Meditation
🔸Pranayama - Breath work
🔸Guided Relaxation
🔸Mindfulness Meditation
🔸Guided Visualisation
🔸Intrinsic Stress Release
🔸Restorative Yoga
🔸Yoga Nidra
🔸Vibrational Sound Bath

A silent retreat for the senses with layers of nourishing guided journeys into the heart of your own existence, this is a restful day - not a physical practice. The only requirement is that you can get down onto the floor (and back up again) to soak up lots of self care.

If you're presently going through a tough time in life, or you just need some time to 're-set' or cleanse your entire being with a 'stress-detox', this one day will make a profound impact.

"What an awesome treat to give myself before this rollercoaster of a year ends. To really receive the gift of stillness and 'letting go' at this time of year is better and more nourishing than even a week at the beach (and I love the beach!). Lisa is the perfect guide to lead us through amazing sessions of meditation and restoration that are totally about rejuvenation. Just what I needed and I never want to miss one of these retreats! Thanks Lisa"

"Lisa held space beautifully and allowed us to create space for ourselves. As the sessions began, life outside melted away. A well-paced event that allowed for calm, peace and reflection. Thanks Lisa!"
TAM - BUDERIM

"I loved the retreat. I was a little anxious about the day, not knowing what to expect and not knowing how I would feel having to sit with my own thoughts... even the suggestion of not wearing a watch to check in on time seemed scary. But I embraced it and sat out of my comfort zone and I am so very glad I did! I love Lisa's gentle and non judgemental way and I absolutely loved the sound vibration session and the use of essential oils throughout the class. What an amazing way to start the New Year. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! P.S. I didn't even look at my watch or phone once during the day. Nor did I want to. The day felt like a soft, warm coccon".

Women, when we can all look at each other and just say "beautiful" (regardless of size or physical attributes), the world of women will change.

Now change the word 'women' in the sentence above to 'people'. It applies to us all.

24 hour challenge:
Can you replace judgement with love? When you look at people let your first words be "beautiful". Every person. Try that on for size. It will change your world. It will change our world.

Just for one day, can you put down your need to judge other human beings?

Can you take your "beauty blinkers" off and allow your world to expand beyond measure?

Feeling at ease within ourself,
as who we are,
in the moment we are in,
and in the space we are in,
at any given time,
is our birthright.
It is our original nature.

Returning to this state is a 'stripping back'.

Hi, I'm Lisa Welch 👋
I'm a somatic therapist, meditation teacher and self-insight facilitator.

My journey on this earth has blessed me with the honor of guiding unsatiatied people home to their original nature - shedding heavy layers, accumulated over many years, that weigh them down. For to love oneself truly, madly deeply is to be at home.

Let the journey begin with your body.

I invite you to join me each Thursday in the Sunset Studio to strip away the damaging narratives running through your whole system - narratives that leave traces in your physical body. Narratives that shape your worldly experience.

🌿Weekly Therapeutic Stress Release Classes 🌿
This is a fusion of somatic release (Neurogenic Tremoring) and embodied meditation for nervous system regulation and a natural recalibration felt by deep calm within the body and the mind.

Break the cycle of stress, anxiety...
and modern-day amnesia (the forgetting of one's original nature!)

If meditation has ever felt frustrating, uncomfortable, or like you’re “doing it wrong” — there's a reason for it!

If you're being asked to persist with such a challenging task - one that's leaving you frustrated instead of peaceful - someone is doing you a disservice ...because this expectation is out of place.

I see this all the time.

How many people have tried meditation, thrown their arms in the air and given up on it, only to feel like a failure.😫

Contrary to popular approaches, sitting still in meditation and trying to focus attention is NOT the first port of call of meditation.

YET, many well-meaning meditation teachers throw the guantlet down promising rewards with persistence. Unfortunately, the majority of people walk away because the process is too excrutiating.

This is what drives me (a little🦇 sh crazy)...

Watching people miss out on the known benefits of meditation, simply because they've been misguided. This‼️ This ignites my fire.

Because there IS another way.

Start here - Therapeutic Stress Release initiates a release mechanism in the body that unwinds pent up stress. It works with the body first, so calm becomes something you experience naturally… rather than something you're left trying to manufacture without the right ingredients.

Go from stressed, overwhelmed & anxious…
to peaceful and serene…
and feelin' goooood....
without forcing yourself to "meditate"

Class starts Thursday in Mooloolaba
Comment 'peaceful me' and I'll send you the info.
