🚨 HELPERS NEEDED – Nordic Kayaks Beach to Beach 13 Jun 🛶
The Mooloolaba Paddlers Annual Nordic Kayaks Beach to Beach event is on Saturday 13th June, and we’re gearing up for one of our biggest races yet.
This event is not only a highlight on our paddling calendar, but also a vital fundraiser that helps keep our club membership and storage fees affordable. With more than 200 paddlers from around Australia expected to compete, we’re calling on our amazing members to lend a hand and help make the day a success.
We know many of you will be racing and will jump in to help once you finish, but if you’re available to assist earlier, it would be greatly appreciated.
Here’s what we need and who’s leading each area:
🔹 Start Line – Brad Martin’s Team
🔹 Beach Setup Crew (5 people before the race)
🔹 Ski Collection from Water’s Edge
🔹 Timers (2 people) – Buck (Coordinator)
🔹 Race Tag Collection (2 people) – Buck (Coordinator)
🔹 Beach Pack-Up Crew (8 people)
Beach setup begins at 7:00am, and we’re expecting the first paddlers to arrive around 11:40am.
The event wrap-up and presentations will be held upstairs at the Mooloolaba Surf Club from 2:00pm.

Bio
I have been selected to represent Australia at the World Ocean Ski Championships in Spain this October which is the pinnacle event in ocean ski racing. To make this dream possible, I am raising funds to help cover the significant travel costs of international competition.

Originally from Tasmania, I moved to the Sunshine Coast alone at 17 years old to chase my dream of becoming a world-class paddle sports athlete and future Olympian in sprint kayaking. Since then, I have dedicated my life to training and competing across sprint kayaking, ocean ski racing and surf lifesaving while balancing full-time work as a locksmith apprentice. Living on an apprentice wage while committing to a full high-performance training program makes international competition extremely challenging financially.

Representing Australia means everything to me. This opportunity is the result of years of sacrifice, hard work and commitment, and competing against the best athletes in the world will be a major step toward my long-term sporting goals. I will complete a demanding 20 week preparation program focused on strength, endurance and race-specific training to ensure I arrive in Spain ready to compete at my best in the 20km downwind race against the best in the world.

Your support will directly help me continue chasing this opportunity and proudly represent Australia on the world stage. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in helping me get to Spain and compete at the highest level of Ocean Ski Racing.
