Staff 2. Students 0. But who’s counting? ⚽
On Friday 5 June, our Staff took on the Students in the next round of the 2026 Staff vs Student series, this time on the soccer field.
The Students came in highly fancied, despite missing their fearless leader Will M., who swapped boots for manager duties. The Staff, meanwhile, arrived with understandable concerns about hamstrings, fitness levels and the possibility of a goal avalanche.
But with some handy recruits in Coach Hope, Coach Liam and Luke W. in goals, the Staff did more than just survive. They competed, defended, threw in a few brave slide tackles and were very nearly rewarded with an early goal.
After a tense second half, plenty of foiled attempts and no shortage of sideline noise, the match went to a sudden death penalty shootout.
And in true underdog fashion, the old wise heads of the Staff team held their nerve, with some brilliant goalkeeping from Luke W. sealing a massive win for the Staff.
That makes it 2-0 to the Staff in the 2026 series.
Next up: Touch football in Term 3. Students, the comeback starts now.

Small pieces of Easter foil, big impact. 🌏
Over the Easter holidays, our Primary School students collected the foil from their Easter chocolates as part of the Eco Club’s Easter Foil Competition.
Each year level filled 10 litre buckets with foil, before rolling it into tennis ball sized balls ready for recycling. The winning year level? Year 2, who collected enough foil balls to fill two and a half buckets.
That’s 25 litres of foil saved from landfill and ready to be recycled. A brilliant effort from our young eco champions. 💚
Well done to our PS Eco Club for leading the way, and to every student who remembered to save their foil after enjoying a little Easter chocolate!

Thank you to our Sustainability Officer Emily Boyd and the dedicated Eco Club students for bringing these wonderful activities to life.

Learning beyond the classroom 🌟
Our Year 8 DIB Future Founders students recently enjoyed a fantastic opportunity to hear from local entrepreneur Lachlan Neilsen during a special food truck incursion.
Lachlan shared the story behind building his businesses, including the much-loved Naked Bull Brazilian BBQ food truck, his own signature sauce range, and a fishing tackle business. Students loved hearing about the creativity, hard work and persistence involved in turning an idea into a successful business.
The session gave students the chance to ask questions, explore the world of entrepreneurship, and connect their classroom learning with real-life experiences. From branding and customer experience to food truck design, there was plenty of inspiration to take away.
At Immanuel, we value opportunities that connect students with industry experts and real-world learning experiences, helping them grow in confidence, think creatively and discover future pathways. 💡✨

Innovation, creativity and plenty of curiosity on display at Immanuel last week 🚀
Students in the Immanuel Tech Club got hands-on with cutting-edge AI technology as they began setting up the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit, making Immanuel the first school on the Sunshine Coast to receive this incredible technology.
Led by our passionate Year 12 students Levi, Finlay and Ashton, alongside support from the IT Department and Innovation Hub staff, Tech Club is creating exciting opportunities for students to explore Generative AI, Robotics, Computer Vision and more.
We love seeing students learning together, trying new things and bringing big ideas to life 💡✨
