The goodbye party is all finished and cleaned up! I loved seeing everyone again and it was so much fun watching all the old and new friends get to hang out again.

Thank you to all my amazing families, those who came and those who couldn’t make it! I honestly love you all and I’ve been so lucky to have the best kids ever. It’s been my absolute pleasure growing up with them all and getting to know your families over the last five years.

🧡 LOVE BUGS 🐞 Today we did a gluing activity to make some funky love bugs. The kids chose all the features they wanted to add on and then where they were going to stick them. They then wanted to add on some wings and decorate it with pens. One of our friends had a book all about bugs that we could use as inspiration for features and decorations. We then wanted to draw our own spiders and butterflies 🦋

We had a great day out at Wildlife HQ! Our favourites were the red panda, the sun bear, the snakes and touching a wallaby 🦘 🐍 🐒

We had the best time ever at the Mons School Road playgroup this morning. Such a nice environment to explore!

Today we celebrated a birthday with an amazing dinosaur experience. There were games, puzzles, dress ups and most importantly PUPPETS! EASTER 🐣 We did a little sensory bin this morning and it was HEAPS of fun. Even if the room is going to be covered in glitter for the next month…

4 and a half years ago I became a mum…and when I returned to work, I realised that as a working mum, my mindset about myself, my ability and my expectations were so different to before.

I questioned my ability, I doubted my skills and knowledge, and I held unrealistic and hurtful expectations of myself at home (and at work in some ways too).

I was burning out and it was affecting my work, my relationships and my parenting.

I had a job that I loved, a very supportive workplace, help from family and an awesome husband who supported me, but I couldn’t stop thinking that I wasn’t good enough; as a mum, at work, and at keeping home.

I realised I wasn’t alone, as most of the mums I spoke to at work and in my personal life were experiencing the same feelings and were racked constantly with guilt that they weren’t good enough or doing enough.

I thought ‘this isn’t right, all these mums are doing such awesome work, raising wonderful kids and deserve to be standing in the positions they are – as successful women both at home and at work…including ME!’

I realised something…the most important thing that I could do to start living a more balanced life, was to start investing in ME! Guilt-free, beneficial-for-everybody, personal investment.

Spotted recently on a trip to Badtjala Country (Inskip Point). The kids had made an awesome little cubby using fallen trees, branches and vines from the beach. When the tide comes up they even had a nice, shady spot to relax in the water. I always love seeing evidence of play!
