Alex Berko! Discovery of my year. I have to admit being a bit underwhelmed by the score at first glance (and even first few rehearsals), but isn't that often the way with truly great art? It doesn't knock your socks off with loud and obvious greatness, but sneaks quietly up and arrests your mind, body and soul with its subtlety and wonders. I am so excited to be singing this work in a couple of weeks and grateful to be working with Debra Shirer-Dirié and Fusion ensemble.
