🐝🍯 We had a beautiful incursion where the children had the opportunity to engage and learn so much from Skye, a beekeeper!
She gave an informative presentation about bees, their roles, and their habitat. The children learned so many interesting facts about how bees help our environment by pollinating flowers and creating honey. Without them, the world would be a very different place! 🌼🐝
Thank you, Skye, for sharing your knowledge and passion with us! 💛

Ocean Inquiry in Action! 🌊
As part of our exploration of the ocean, sea animals, and caring for our environment, the children enjoyed a fun science experiment using bicarbonate soda and vinegar. Using pipettes, they carefully added the vinegar and excitedly watched the fizzing chemical reaction unfold! 🌊🫧
This experience extended our inquiry project as the children explored how different materials react and connected their discoveries to conversations about the ocean and protecting our environment! 🌏

Growing Curious Minds 🌿
One child’s contribution from their family farm sparked a wonderful learning experience in our classroom! 🌱 The children planted the seeds, cared for them each day, and were so excited to return after the weekend to discover how much they had grown!
As the seeds sprouted taller and greener, the children observed the changes closely and expressed their learning through drawings and conversations. This hands-on experience supported early scientific thinking, observation skills, responsibility, and an understanding of how living things grow and change. 🌿✏️

🪘Bringing Culture, Rhythm, and Movement to UNA!🪘
A big thank you to Nathaniel from Rhythm Culture as he shared his knowledge of African music as well as captivating the children through an engaging session of singing, dancing, and learning a new language through song and musical instruments!
Every child had the opportunity to play their own drum and explore unique, fun musical patterns—incorporating the dynamics of sound, tempo, and rhythm. What a fun and enriching experience!

Our kindy children stepped into the role of mini architects, as they engaged in a playful yet purposeful exploration of blueprints, learning how a bird’s-eye view helps represent the layout of a building! 👷♀️👷♂️
They identified shapes and different rooms within plans before applying their understanding to design their own blueprints of their homes, how clever! ⭐️
As Friedrich Froebel said, “Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood.”

There’s something about loose parts that sparks children’s curiosity and wonder ✨
With no limits, they create, imagine, and explore their own ideas!

Children’s curiosity drives their learning. At UNA Kindergarten, we extend their interests with thoughtful experiences and resources that encourage discovery! ⭐️
Inspired by Vygotsky’s theory, we support children to learn, discover, and reach their full potential. 🌱

There’s something so special about connecting with our local schools and coming together with the children at Una Kindergarten ⭐️
A big thank you to Miss Burns from Palmview State Primary School for taking the time to visit and read a story with the children — it was such a great moment shared together 📚✨
