Walking with Country through Storytelling and Artwork 🍃
🍂 By Krystle Daly
Long ago, a young child walked across Country with the Elders for the first time. They taught the child to walk gently, listen carefully, and always thank Country.
Along the way, the child learnt to find bushtucker, follow animal tracks to water, and take only what was needed so Country could continue to provide. Families used fish traps that workedwith the river, allowing young fish to swim free.
As night fell, they built shelters and gathered around the fire. Looking to the stars, the Elders shared stories that guided people through the seasons and across Country.
The child learnt that Country is more than land—it is family. They promised to care for Country and keep its stories alive for future generations. 🍃
