A great book can stop a whole room 📖
These are the titles that have been sparking the biggest conversations in the Kindergarten room lately:
📚 Any animal related book! (Especially spiders!)
📚 Where's Wally? (Wonder where he could be hiding now?)
Reading together builds more than literacy, it grows empathy, imagination and the ability to see the world through someone else’s eyes.
Any titles you’d recommend we add to our shelves? Drop them in the comments.

Our tough tray turned into an underwater world. The children loved diving into sensory ocean play, discovering sparkling gems, patterned shells, shimmering water and all kinds of sea creatures. So much learning wrapped simple pure fun!

Ask any educator what unites a room of children in seconds, and the answer is almost always the same: a really good song 🎶
This month’s room favourite in the Junior Kindy room:
🎵 Golden (if you know, you know!)
Music is doing a lot of developmental heavy lifting here - building vocabulary, memory, rhythm and social connection, all while being genuinely joyful.
Has a song made it home with your child this month? We’d love to know which one.

Native Wildlife🦎
What an exciting day it was at our centre! A native wildlife ranger stopped by with some very special friends, and the children were thrilled. From curious eyes to gentle hands, they loved getting up close and meeting these wonderful animals. Learning has never been this wild.

National Reconciliation Week begins today - 27 May to 3 June
This year’s theme is ‘All In’ - a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, every single day.
Over the coming week, we’ll be exploring stories, art and conversations that help children understand connection, country and community.
Being ‘All In’ starts early. In our rooms, it looks like curiosity, respect and a genuine desire to learn from and with one another.

Today is National Sorry Day 🕊️
National Sorry Day acknowledges the pain experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly the Stolen Generations and their families.
In our centre, we believe that learning and healing begin with listening, acknowledging and acting with care.
We take time today to reflect, to honour those who were affected, and to recommit to walking together with respect and truth.

The mornings are getting cooler and the afternoons aren’t far behind 🍂
A quick reminder as we head deeper into autumn, it’s a great time to check what’s in your child’s bag:
🧥 A warm layer or jacket
🥾 Closed in shoes and socks
👕 At least one full change of clothes
👒 A hat for those bright autumn days
We love getting outside in all seasons, so being prepared helps children make the most of every moment.
Any questions about what to bring? Our team is always happy to help.

Sensory play at its sweetest! 🎨
Our Nursery children have been exploring paint with their hands, discovering new textures, colours, and sensations through messy, meaningful play.
This hands‑on experience supports early brain development, encourages curiosity, and helps little ones build fine motor skills as they swipe, pat, and squish the paint. It’s all about learning through touch, exploration, and pure joy.

Hands-on learning in action! 🔧
Our school readiness children have been busy exploring early engineering skills through play-based construction. Using tools and a variety of building pieces, they’re practicing problem‑solving, creativity, teamwork, and fine motor development as they design and build their own creations.
It’s amazing to see their confidence grow as they experiment, test ideas, and bring their imaginations to life!
