Today at Goodstart Pacific Paradise, we recognised National Sorry Day with our Kindergarten children through meaningful conversations, storytelling, and exploration. 🖤💛❤️
National Sorry Day (May 26) is an important time to reflect on the history and impact of the Stolen Generations in an age-appropriate and meaningful way. Through thoughtful discussions and hands-on experiences, educators help little learners explore concepts of empathy, connection, understanding, and saying sorry, aligning with the Early Years Learning Framework.
Miss Shenae, our Kindergarten Teacher, shared the story “Stolen Girl” with the children to help bring awareness to the reality of the Stolen Generation. She created a calm, safe, and nurturing space where the children could openly discuss their thoughts and feelings.
The children asked thoughtful questions such as “But why?” and shared feelings like “That sounds scary,” showing empathy and curiosity as they learned about this important part of Australia’s history.
Following the story, the children explored Indigenous provocations and experiences, engaging with Indigenous symbols, culture, and sensory-based learning opportunities in a respectful and meaningful way.
We are proud of the compassion, understanding, and kindness our little learners showed today as we continue to foster inclusion, respect, and awareness within our centre community. 🖤💛❤️

🐢💚 World Turtle Day at Goodstart Pacific Paradise 💚🐢
Yesterday our little learners had a very special visitor! Miss Shannen brought in her beautiful turtle for the children to meet and learn about as we celebrated World Turtle Day.
The children were so excited to observe the turtle up close, ask questions, and learn about how we can care for and protect turtles and their environments.
Experiences like these help spark curiosity, respect for animals, and a love for nature. 🌏✨
Thank you, Miss Shannen, for sharing such a special part of your world with us today! 🐢💚

🌈 Colour exploration fun at Goodstart Pacific Paradise! 🌈
We have been diving into the world of colours through hands-on sensory play and science experiences. Using droppers, the children explored mixing colours, squeezing and transferring liquids, and watching exciting reactions happen right before their eyes! 🎨✨
These experiences help build fine motor skills, concentration, curiosity and early science understanding, all while having so much fun learning through play. 💧🔴🟡🔵
We love seeing the children’s excitement as they experiment, discover and create together! 💕

🌿 Recently, our children at Goodstart Pacific Paradise have dived into nature play and garden discoveries 🌿
Through a range of hands-on experiences and real-life learning opportunities, the children have been exploring, creating and connecting with the natural world around them. 🍃🥒
As part of our garden discoveries, we checked on the growth of our cucumbers and found some were finally ready to harvest! The children helped pick the larger cucumbers before washing them and enjoying the experience of cutting up their own pieces to eat. This meaningful experience encouraged healthy eating, independence and an understanding of where our food comes from. 💚
The children also enjoyed going on nature walks around the centre, each carrying their own collection bag to gather natural treasures along the way.
Nature play provides endless opportunities for children to care for the environment, use their senses, explore the world around them and develop a deeper appreciation for nature through play and discovery. 🌏💛

Today our Kindergarten friends enjoyed a special visit to Under 8’s Day at Pacific Paradise State School! 🌟
We were so grateful to have our beautiful families join us for the walk, making the experience even more meaningful.
Along the way, our children explored the importance of road safety, learning how to stay safe near roads, cross carefully, and remain aware of their surroundings. We also took time to observe the beautiful flowers and natural environment around us, encouraging curiosity and connection with the world around us.
It was wonderful to see so many familiar peers at the fun-filled day.
Our children immersed themselves in a range of exciting activities, including football, visiting the petting zoo, and getting creative with arts and crafts. There were smiles, laughter, and so many opportunities for connection and learning throughout the day.
A big thank you to Pacific Paradise State Primary School for hosting such a fantastic event and creating such a welcoming experience for our children and families 💛

Our Kindergarten children have been busy getting their hands dirty exploring all things worms in our worm farm 🪱🌱
With the guidance of our amazing educators, the children learned all about vermiculture and how worms help break down decomposed food waste. They discovered the process of creating nutrient-rich castings and “worm juice,” and followed each step to see how it all works.
To complete the cycle, the children used what they had learned to help fertilise our beautiful gardens, nurturing the plants and watching them grow 🌿
Such a wonderful hands-on learning experience that teaches sustainability, care for our environment, and the importance of every living thing, no matter how small 💚
