👉🏼 As a tenant, you will need to be very careful when choosing the ideal home for your Family Day Care.

In addition to the spaces required for your business, you will need to take into account that, if the house is not yours, you may need to obtain some permissions if you need, for example, to install internal and external security equipment, drill walls, make changes in general, and even replace something in the house. 🏠

✍🏼 You will also need a written authorisation from the landlord, which may be in the rental contract or be done separately, stating that he is in agreement and authorising you to operate your Family Day Care business in the property.

I strongly advise you to make a rental contract for a long period, so that you do not have to take the risk of doing all the set up of your business and need to move out of the house in a short time. 📃

👍🏼 Besides a long-term rental contract, another tip is to pay attention to the notice time for both parties that will be described in the contract. If you need to move, but at least have considerable time to look for a new place, things get a little "less intense".

How to create a successful brand for a Family Day Care When Educators decide to start their own Family Day Care, they are faced with many new tasks and skills that will need to be developed. This includes structuring, planning, and developing their brands.

What does "Education" mean to you?

For me, educating goes beyond teaching, sharing and developing activities.

Through our work, we inspire, shape and give love to other human beings.
We get attached to them, we vibrate with each milestone achieved, we want to make sure that they are okay, that they ate all the food and got enough sleep. It's an affection that even surpasses our own limits at times. 💕

Education for me goes beyond getting frustrated when the activity turns into a mess that they hated (haha), or getting mad when they "don't listen", but to understand what can go better next time. 🤍

I like to watch children and their hearts, understand why each of their behaviours, and respect their own pace.

Educating is serving, loving, respecting, and receiving all that in return as well. 🥰

School holidays have just started again ☀️ and as a Family Day Care Educator, did you know that you can make "extra income" during this time? 😎

Don't limit yourself to just "4 children a day" if you believe you can take care of 3 other school-age children as well.

In addition to the opportunity to earn more, children at this age are super independent, communicative, and love to share ideas and learn new things. Also, they love to help, and can be great assistants with the little ones. 😀

This can be a chance for you to change your business routine a little, have a lot of fun, and make extra income.

With so many lockdowns across Australia right now, you need to check what the rules are in the state you operate in. But, since everything requires planning, you can no doubt start thinking about this possibility if it sounds something interesting to you.

Some Educators even work only during school holidays periods. Look what a great idea if you are in need of a "break" for a period of time as well. 💆🏼‍♀️

Just ensure that you never fail to explore all the possibilities with your Family Day Care business 😉

Many believe that a Family Day Care Educator can only have 4 children per day in their care. But the truth is that a Family Day Care Educator can take care of up to 7 children per day. 😉

The maximum allowed is 4 children of preschool age or less (0-5 years), and up to 3 children of school-age (6-12 years).

This means that Educators can offer "before and after school" and/or "school holidays" services for up to 3 school-age children per day in their Family Day Care, while also caring for up to 4 children of preschool age.

🔔 The number of children allowed also includes the Educator's own children under the age of 13 if no other adult is available to care for them.

7 - Know the time to pause or reduce workload.
8 - Learn all the steps you should take before opening the doors, including finding the right Scheme, setting up, your tax obligations, services offered, marketing, financial and admin management, etc.
