A solution to the BIGGEST problem in basketball.
Everybody is complaining about referee abuse and mental health. But nobody is empowering the referees to handle the threatening environments they are exposed to from a young age.
I needed this training, so did my sister, so did my friends. But nobody came. Call me crazy, but I genuinely believe the ripple effect of this book could affect change throughout all of basketball.

Welcome to a new era 🤪

My heart has been calling for me to step up and help people through what I’m actually truly passionate about.
I have a story. I have skills, tools and knowledge. And now I have the ingredient I was missing: Courage.
I am unwavering in the belief that I can change peoples lives and thus the world. I genuinely believe wholeheartedly I CAN help a whole lot of people. And I will. I am literally 100% certain. But don’t take my word for it. Watch.
Why haven’t I until now?
- Fear of judgement
- Shame around being seen (words like “Attention seeker”, “imposter” and “arrogant” would come to mind)
- Believing I had to be in a ‘niche’ (behind the whistle - which also was just a mask so I didn’t have to be truly vulnerable)
- Believing I was too small to actually make a difference
What happens to Behind the Whistle? Oh don’t worry, I’m still deeply passionate about educating, inspiring and empowering referees. It’s just a microcosm of my broader goals. Stay tuned.
This is a process, and this is me taking the very first step. Momentum will take a sec as I have some things DEEP in the pipeline. But believe me you, I’m coming 👀

This is what separates the “coolers from the cleaners” as would say.
Players and coaches are always asking for consistency in calls - what about emotional consistency? This is achieved through the same means by which you achieve calling consistency. Practice. Learn. Fail. Reflect. Retry. Improve. Practice. Reps. Reps. Reps.

Most people don’t even CONSIDER that maybe, just maybe, they are not their thoughts - but the thinker of those thoughts.
I’m often identifying with my thoughts/feelings, but it’s becoming less frequent. That’s the game.
