Our classroom based Te Reo Māori language course is designed for learners of all levels, from beginners to more advanced students. The course aims to provide a solid foundation in the Māori language, with key outcomes focused on:
• Developing the ability to introduce yourself and others through pepeha (tribal introductions).
• Gaining basic conversational skills to engage in everyday interactions.
• Applying fundamentals of the language in practical, real-life situations.
Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to improve your skills, this course will support you in building confidence and competence in speaking Māori.
Our 8-week online course is an introduction to Te Reo Māori, designed to help learners begin speaking and understanding the language. Throughout the course, we will explore key elements such as:
• Pepeha – Introducing yourself and sharing your identity using traditional Māori phrases.
• Karakia – Learning basic prayers and blessings often used in Māori culture.
• Kupu Hou – Expanding vocabulary with new words to enhance language skills.
• Sentence Structure – Understanding the basic structure of Te Reo Māori sentences.
• Conversation Skills – Building confidence and ability to start simple conversations in Te Reo Māori.
By the end of the course, learners will have a foundational understanding of the language, enabling them to engage in basic conversations.
