✨ GROWTH CHARTS AND PERCENTILES ✨ Jess, our Child Health Nurse Practitioner & IBCLC explains what percentiles are, what they can (and can’t!) tell us about your baby and why one number on a chart doesn’t tell us a whole story. Growth is individual and babies don’t need to be on the 50th percentile to be growing beautifully. What matters most is your baby’s overall growth pattern over a period of time, alongside their development, feeding, happiness and individual circumstances. If you’d like personalised advice, come see our team for a Growth and Development Check or Lactation Consult. You can call us on 0493 298 227 or BOOK ONLINE via www.coastlifefamilies.com.au

Remember when your b***s used to match? 😂
Breastfeeding has a funny way of turning twins into distant cousins.
One might suddenly become the overachiever, the other the “I’ll do my best” sibling. One can be noticeably bigger, produce more milk, leak constantly, or become baby’s favourite. Completely normal? Yep!
And while we’re talking changes...
🤍 Breasts may get bigger (or smaller over time!)
🤍 Ni***es and areolas often become darker to help baby find the milk bar.
🤍 Ni***es may become larger or more prominent to make latching easier.
🤍 Your breasts might not look, feel, or behave the same, and that’s OK! Breastfeeding is rarely a perfectly symmetrical operation. Your body adapts in amazing ways to feed your baby, even if it means one breast seems to be carrying the entire team. Here’s to celebrating the incredible (and occasionally lopsided) work our bodies do during Breastfeeding Awareness Week.

Breastfeeding can be such a beautiful experience. But it also often isn’t easy! Ni**le pain is not something you should simply push through. Pain is usually a sign that something needs attention. Common causes include shallow latch or positioning, tongue tie or oral restrictions, vasospasm, engorgement, incorrect fl**ge size or placement, thrush or other skin conditions. Although we can often treat symptoms, addressing the underlying cause is essential. If feeding hurts, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Early assessment and support can make breastfeeding more comfortable and enjoyable for both you and your baby. Call us on 0493 298 227 or Book Online.
