🌿 Keep the Fire Burning 🔥

What a beautiful piece of collaborative work created by our children to celebrate NAIDOC Week and reflect on our connection to Country, community and one another.

Using natural materials, drawings and their own words, the children explored the importance of caring for Country, respecting First Nations peoples and keeping culture, stories and connection alive.

At the centre of their artwork is a simple but powerful promise:

“We’d like to say thank you, for letting us share the land that you love. We promise to take care…”

A meaningful reminder that learning about Australia’s First Nations cultures is not something reserved for one week — we can Keep the Fire Burning through respect, listening, learning and caring for Country. ❤️💛🖤

🍃 CASUAL RELIEF TEACHERS WANTED – MONTESSORI NOOSA 🍃

Montessori Noosa is looking for qualified teachers to join our casual relief teaching team.

We are a small, welcoming Prep–Year 6 Montessori school in beautiful Sunshine Beach, with a strong focus on nurturing curiosity, independence and a love of learning.

Montessori experience is wonderful, but not essential — we’d love to hear from teachers who are warm, flexible, confident in the classroom and enjoy working with primary-aged children.

If you’re a qualified teacher looking for casual relief work in a supportive and unique school environment, we’d love to hear from you!

✨ What it means to be a Montessori teacher at Montessori Noosa ✨
At Montessori Noosa, being a teacher is so much more than delivering lessons — it’s a journey of continual reflection, growth, and connection.
Each day, we pause, observe, and reflect. We look deeply at the children in front of us — their interests, their needs, their strengths — and we ask ourselves how we can better guide and support them. This reflective practice is at the heart of Montessori education and allows us to grow alongside the children.
In fact, Dr Maria Montessori reminds us in Education in a New World:
"An ordinary teacher cannot be transformed into a Montessori teacher, but must be created anew, ridding themselves of pedagogical prejudices."
This speaks to the deep inner work we do as educators. We create opportunities for children to actively construct their own understanding through hands-on experiences, meaningful work, and purposeful exploration. By carefully preparing the environment and guiding with intention, we support each child to develop independence, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.
At our school, we value:
🌿 Thoughtful observation before intervention
🌿 Respect for each child as an individual
🌿 A calm, prepared environment that invites independence
🌿 Strong partnerships with families
🌿 Ongoing self-reflection as educators
We know that when we continue to grow as teachers, our classrooms become richer, more responsive, and more joyful places for children to learn.
Montessori is not just something we teach — it’s something we live every day. 💛

Healthy n**e lunches are something we really value at Montessori Noosa 🌿

Less packaging means less waste for landfill and a kinder footprint on our planet. It also encourages children to see food in its natural form — colourful, fresh, interesting and nourishing.

That said… packing a healthy, appealing lunch every single day is not always easy! Between busy mornings, changing tastes and trying to include enough variety, it can feel like a full-time job some weeks.

We’d love to know — whose child makes or helps make their own lunch? 🥕🍓🥪

One important thing we remind children at school is that we do not share food. This helps us keep all children safe with allergies and also respects the many different cultural, family and dietary choices within our community. Some children may eat vegetarian or vegan foods, have religious or cultural food practices, sensory preferences, or foods they avoid for health reasons. Every family knows what works best for their child 💛

We always love seeing the creative lunches families come up with. Sometimes the simplest lunches are the biggest hit 🌏 here are some examples.
