💙🎉 Celebrate Chappy Week with Us! 🎉💙

This week we are celebrating and recognising the wonderful contribution of Chappy Rebecca and the positive impact she has on our Sunnybank State School community.

Chappy Rebecca provides support, encouragement, friendship and a listening ear to our students, staff and families. Through lunchtime activities, classroom support, wellbeing programs and individual connections, she helps make our school a welcoming and caring place for everyone.

To celebrate Chappy Week, students can join in some fun activities:

⚽🏆 What an amazing effort from our Sunnybank State School Boys Soccer Teams at the Semester One Gala Days! 🏆⚽

A huge congratulations to our teams for their outstanding achievements:

🥉 Senior C Boys – 3rd overall
🥇 Junior C Boys – 1st overall

The students demonstrated fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship, determination and skill throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school both on and off the field.

A big shout out and thank you to Mr B for his dedication and support as coach — your encouragement and commitment helped lead the teams to success! 👏⚽

This week, our Library at Sunnybank State School is proudly celebrating and honouring First Nations cultures, histories and perspectives with an amazing display and a wonderful range of books available to borrow and share with classes throughout the week. 📚✨

Students are encouraged to explore these stories, learn together, and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

We will also be running a variety of fun lunchtime activities for students to participate in during the week! 🌟

National Reconciliation Week is an important time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Mrs Paynter and Mrs Lamont are meeting lots of new friends at the Education Fair. We will be here until 2:00pm if you’d like to come and say hello and learn more about our wonderful school!!

We are all set up and ready to meet lots of new friends at the Education Fair today. Come and visit us at stand 56 at Nissan Arena until 2:00pm.

🚶‍♀️ WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL DAY – WEDNESDAY 20 MAY 🚶‍♂️

This week, our Active School Travel Day is all about WALKING! Although National Walk Safely to School Day is officially on Friday 22 May, our school will celebrate on Wednesday 20 May.

Walking to school is a great way to stay active, reduce traffic around our school, and practise important road safety skills. If you live too far away to walk the whole trip, try a “Park and Walk” by parking 10 minutes away and walking the rest!

💥 The winning class will be the class with the HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF WALKERS! 💥
