Somewhere between the last day of leave and the first alarm of your new routine, going back to work stops being just a logistics problem - it's an emotional one too. If you're feeling relief, excitement, guilt and everything in between, you're not doing it wrong.

Here's what actually helps in those first few weeks:

🗓️ Book in trial days before your official start, so drop-off isn't a total unknown
🍼 Sort your feeding plan early, with your centre and your employer
💬 Talk to your educators early - the small stuff matters (comfort items, nap windows, the words your child uses)
💰 Know what's changed: since January 2026, CCS-eligible families get at least 3 days of subsidised care a week, guaranteed
🤝 Ask about flexible working before you're back, not after

Celebrating an incredible milestone here at Aussie kindies Sunbury – 10 years of service for our wonderful Centre Manager, Sam! 🌟

Sam’s dedication, kindness, and passion have helped shape Aussie Kindies into the warm and welcoming centre it is today. She is an amazing leader to our educators, builds beautiful relationships with our families, and is often the first friendly face to welcome new families through our doors.

Today our children participated in the National Simultaneous Storytime livestream, joining children across the nation to enjoy a shared reading experience together! 📚🦘

To extend on their learning, the children explored a variety of follow up activities including making finger puppets, colouring, and completing workbook activities linked to the story. These experiences encouraged creativity, communication, and early literacy skills while making learning fun and engaging for all children involved. 🌟

Our Recycling Station helps us build strong connections with our families and community ♻️💚
We encourage families to contribute recycled and loose parts materials from home that can be reused for craft, sensory play, construction, and creative learning experiences. Items such as boxes, containers, fabric, bottle lids, and natural materials provide endless opportunities for imagination and exploration.

By working together, we are teaching children the value of sustainability, reusing resources, and caring for our environment while creating meaningful learning experiences every day. Thank you to all our families for your ongoing support and contributions!

Last night’s professional development meeting with Animal Farm was such a valuable experience for our team. We explored meaningful ways to embed practices that support children’s gross and fine motor skill development into our daily programs and learning environments.

As educators, we are always striving to grow, learn, and improve the experiences we provide for children. Opportunities like this allow us to reflect on our practices, gain new ideas, and continue becoming the best educators we can be every day.
