Dental Week Incursion – The Smiles Dentacare Team 🦷🪥

The Smiles Dentacare Team visited the service as part of Dental Week, providing the Kinder Learning Studios with an engaging and educational incursion focused on oral health and caring for our teeth.

During the incursion, the children participated in discussions about the importance of brushing their teeth each morning and night and learnt about how brushing helps to keep our teeth and gums healthy.

The educators and dental team also spoke with the children about the importance of flossing and how flossing helps to clean the areas between our teeth where a toothbrush cannot always reach.

It was wonderful to see the children engaged, asking questions and confidently sharing what they already knew.

👖Jeans for Genes Day 👖

Today our children and educators proudly wore their jeans in support of Jeans for Genes Day.

Throughout the day, the children explored their creativity by creating beautiful masterpieces on recycled denim.

Together, our service raised funds for a wonderful cause, helping to support vital genetic research and improve the lives of children and families affected by genetic conditions.

🧸 Winter Learning Program – Pyjama Day! ❄️

Today, as part of our Winter Learning Program, we celebrated Pyjama Day.

The children arrived dressed in their favourite pyjamas, dressing gowns, and cosy slippers, ready for a fun-filled day of learning and play.

Today, we were fortunate to welcome the Responsible Pet Ownership team to our service for an engaging and interactive visit.

The children learned all about staying safe around dogs, including how to safely approach and meet a dog they have never met before. Deb explained each step, demonstrating the correct way to approach and gently pat a dog, while reinforcing the importance of always asking the owner's permission first.

The children sang songs and had the wonderful opportunity to meet and gently pat Archie, the friendly dog. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that helped build the children's confidence, understanding, and respect for animals in a fun and meaningful way.

This experience supported the children's awareness of safe behaviours around promoting respectful interactions with animals.

Today the Grasshoppers Learning Studio children came together for our Children's Menu Committee, enjoying a glass of milk, cookies and fruit while sharing their ideas.

Together, we explored our new menu and had wonderful conversations about the foods they enjoy eating at the service and their favourite meals at home.

The children enthusiastically shared a range of suggestions to put forward to our Centre Chef, Caitlin, and can't wait to see some of their suggestions featured on our new menu.

The children are already excited to see – and taste – our new menu. 🍽️

Over the past two weeks, we have had Henny Penny visit our Grasshopper Learning Studio. It has been such a wonderful experience watching the life cycle of our chicks, from hatching out of their eggs to beginning to explore the world around them.

The children have been captivated by the process, showing curiosity, asking thoughtful questions, and developing a deeper understanding of how living things grow and change.

It has been a beautiful hands-on learning experience that has sparked wonder, excitement, and many meaningful conversations.

A special thank you to the families who have kindly adopted our chicks. We are so grateful that the children and their families will be able to continue watching them grow and thrive beyond their time in our learning studio.
