World Cup fever hit a new level last week when our primary football fans were treated to a special visit from former CBHS Lewisham student Marco Tilio (2012–2017).

Marco, now an established international footballer with 10 caps for Australia, a World Cup and Olympics appearance, and three A‑League championships, spoke with students about his journey, career highlights, and how he prepares for big games.

He’s currently playing as a winger for Rapid Wien in the Austrian Bundesliga, bringing his trademark speed and creativity to European football.

Such a proud moment for our community.
Great to have you back at Lewisham, Marco.

This week, our community came together to reflect, learn and act. From connecting with our House totems, to exploring local language through the renaming of our buildings, each experience deepened our understanding of Reconciliation.
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their friends walked together to the 'Breathe' Survival Memorial, reflecting on the significance of Reconciliation and its impact on our community.
As a finale, students came together at assembly as the Voices of Reconciliation, joining communities across Australia to sing 'Beds Are Burning'—a timeless call to action to be ALL IN.

From baking and supplying delicious treats to serving food and drinks to 72 guests, the morning tea was a tremendous success and a wonderful achievement to be proud of.

As part of Reconciliation Week, our students are reconnecting with their Indigenous house totems and exploring the rich meaning and symbolism behind each one. These totemic relationships resonate strongly with Catholic Social Teaching, particularly our shared responsibility to care for our common home through environmental stewardship.

Each totem represents the unique strengths, values, and identity of the house, helping to unite students and deepen their sense of belonging. Through this learning, students are strengthening their connection to one another, to culture, and to Country. All in for Reconciliation.
