Celebrating National Science Week in the field!
Year 11 Biology students explored Long Reef Rock Platform, collecting ecological data and identifying marine species to deepen their understanding of intertidal ecosystems. An informative day, with the standout discovery of a stunning Spanish Dancer nudibranch, a rare sighting that sparked conversations about biodiversity and our changing oceans.
The perfect way to experience a unique part of our natural world while consolidating their studies.

Students gathered in the chapel last week to mark Hiroshima Day, a time for remembrance, reflection and prayer.
Inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki, students folded paper cranes. After the Hiroshima bombing, Sadako sought to fold 1,000 origami cranes as a symbol of hope and healing. She died before completing her goal, leaving 356 cranes still to be folded. By creating the remaining 356 cranes, our students honoured her legacy and reflected on the importance of peace, compassion and reconciliation.

On Friday, our Primary students celebrated the Feast of Saint Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint. Through prayer, scripture and reflection, they explored her life of faith and service and were inspired by her message: "Never see a need without doing something about it."
Thank you to our Primary Captains for leading a reverent and meaningful liturgy and for reflecting on how Saint Mary MacKillop's example continues to guide and inspire us today.

The annual CBHS Battle of the Bands saw six student bands take to the stage, showcasing an impressive range of musical talent. We were delighted to also welcome students from St Scholastica’s College, whose participation made the event even more memorable. Events like this help students build confidence, develop their musical skills and share their talents with the school community.
Congratulations to our equal winners, Bulletstar and St Scholastica’s Band, and to runners-up Deon and the Liturgy Band. As part of their prize, Bulletstar will visit The Parliament Studios in Leichhardt for a professional recording experience.
We congratulate all the musicians and are incredibly proud of the hard work, preparation and teamwork they demonstrated.

Amazing Race: Buddy Edition!
Last week, our Year 7 and Year 12 O'Neill buddies teamed up for an exciting Amazing Race around the school. Working together, students tackled puzzles, treasure hunts and school song challenges, all while testing their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
With canteen vouchers up for grabs, the race was full of energy, laughter and friendly competition. Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity for our buddies to strengthen their connections and create memorable experiences together.
