A huge congratulations to all the students involved in the Mary Poppins Combined Schools Musical – it was a wonderful celebration of talent, teamwork, and creativity uniting students from multiple schools on the North Coast to bring this magical story to life!

A special shoutout to Xavier, Archie, and Aiya for their outstanding participation. It was amazing seeing them up there on the stage doing what they love to do. BBHS is incredibly proud of them all! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸŽ

πŸ’œ CASUAL CLOTHES 'MUFTI' DAY - Tomorrow, Friday 28 August πŸ’œ

Our Student Representative Council invites students to wear casual clothes to school tomorrow in support of Wear It Purple Day, and bring a gold coin donation.

This day is an opportunity for us to show how we can create safe, inclusive, and empowering environments for our LGBTQIA+ students and staff. To show your support, don a touch of purple!

Please ensure all casual clothing is:

🟣 Appropriate for a school day and sun-smart
🟣 No crop tops or clothes with offensive pictures or slogans
🟣 Enclosed shoes must be worn, especially for practical subjects like TAS, PE, Science, etc
🟣 Ugg boots, crocs, thongs, slides, or sandals are not permitted
🟣 Loose or dangly jewellery is not allowed, and long hair must be tied back during practical classes for safety reasons.

Let's come together to celebrate diversity in our school community!

πŸ—£ ON TONIGHT! Let’s Talk Teenagers... Parent Information Evening

πŸ“… WHEN: Thursday 20 August 2026 | 5.30–6.30 pm
πŸ“ WHERE: Byron Bay High School Performing Arts Centre (PAC)

What’s really going on in the teenage years? How do friendships shape our teenagers, and how can we maintain a strong connection with them as they become more independent?

Join us for an informal and informative evening exploring 3 key areas important to our young people and their families:

✨ Understanding teenagers – what’s happening developmentally and why they behave the way they do
✨ Supporting wellbeing – recognising challenges and knowing how and when to seek support
✨ Building connection and resilience – practical ways parents can support their teenagers at home and school

A panel of school staff and community representatives will be there to answer your questions and share their knowledge.

We look forward to seeing you tonight!

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ Lawson is one of the fastest student swimmers in Australia! πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ

If you missed it in last week's Byron Breeze, we’re celebrating Lawson for his amazing performance at the recent School Sport Australia National Championships in Melbourne.

Competing in the highly competitive 16 Boys 50m Butterfly, Lawson finished an impressive 6th place. Even more exciting, his relay teamβ€”made up of the 4 fastest swimmers from NSW All Schoolsβ€”won the Silver medal!

Well done, Lawson! Keep swimming strong! πŸ’ͺπŸŽ‰
