Don’t put anything in the mouth of someone who is having a seizure. Clear the space around them to prevent injury and place them in the recovery position as soon as you can safely do so (seizure not active).
Here is some more info and some really useful resources for managing epilepsy.

1 in 10 West Australians will have a seizure in their lifetime. Based on this, it would be a very fair suggestion to say every household in WA should learn seizure first aid. It wasn’t that long ago that people seriously thought that the correct way to support someone having a seizure was to place a spoon in their mouth. Sad but true. There was a belief that people could swallow their tongue. Some of our staff members recall being taught about seizure first aid using a spoon, when they were young. This is not the thing to do! Epilepsy WA provides online and in person training around epilepsy and seizure first aid and we have a free poster that explains correct seizure first aid principles: https://www.epilepsywa.asn.au/seizures/
We also have free seizure management plan templates that are available on our website, they help those living with epilepsy to ensure they receive the care that is appropriate to them when they experience a seizure: https://www.epilepsywa.asn.au/care-plans/
Thanks to Epilepsy Ireland for creating this image and to one of our local warriors, Bryan for bringing it to our attention.

Anti-inflammatories may aggravate Covid-19, France advises 17/03/2020

This is a really interesting article and worth taking into consideration. Apparently there is some evidence to suggest that ibuprofen may make us vulnerable to COVID-19 infection. So you may be better off taking paracetamol (panadol) if you need an anti-inflammatory or pain relief.

Here is the original article (https://www.thelancet.com/…/PIIS2213-260have now looked up the original paper here 0(20)30116…/fulltext) which suggests a plausible hypothesis by which taking ibuprofen unregulates the ACE2 receptor, which is a binding site for the COVID-19 viral particle.

Washing your hands regularly remains one of the most important infection control measures. Sanitising hand gel is great, but you still need to wash your hands. Not just a quick rinse.

Did you know how the face of Little Annie was chosen?

This is the DEATH MASK of a young woman who drowned in the River Seine in the 1880s. As was customary in those days, her co**se was put on display in the Paris mortuary, in the hope that someone might recognize her and claim her body. The pathologist on duty became entranced by the girl with the enigmatic half-smile, and so he commissioned a plaster cast made of her face. This mask was replicated many times over. She became known as "L'Inconnue de la Seine,” or “The Unknown Woman of the Seine.”

In 1955, a toymaker named Asmund Laerdal created what we now know as the CPR doll. Asmund wanted his mannequin to have a natural appearance. Remembering a mask on the wall of his grandparents' house many years earlier, he decided that the L'Inconnue de la Seine would become the face of Resusci Anne - the CPR doll. So you see, this anonymous woman who drowned in the 19th century is responsible for saving many, many lives the world over. It is said that she has the most kissed face of all time. I hope you enjoyed this little tale!
