Today the sun was shining on the colourful characters at our Junior School Book Character Parade!
It was wonderful to see so many characters brought to life, and particularly impressive to see the creativity that had gone into costumes cleverly made at home rather than simply bought from a shop. Cardboard certainly got a workout, with some wonderfully inventive creations on display. Of course, there were some familiar favourites, a collection of Where’s Wallys, Mischievous Minions and Harry Potters, but we also loved seeing so many lesser-known characters step straight from the pages of a book and into the Junior School. Even our teachers joined in the fun!
It was a true cornucopia of colour, creativity and imagination and a wonderful celebration of Children’s Book Week. The celebrations continue, with plenty more activities planned across our Junior and Senior School libraries as we celebrate books, characters and, most importantly, the joy of reading. 📚🔵⚫️🟡

This National Science Week, our students have been cultivating knowledge, growing curiosity and sowing the seeds of science!
Scientia came alive with hands-on experiments, from the Shaky Hand electric circuit challenge and colourful density columns to redox reactions and a close-up look at cancer cells and copper sulphate crystals. And the crowd favourite? Elephant’s Toothpaste! The discovery continued with daily quizzes, science-themed movies in the McGlade Library and a photography competition.
Celebrating this year’s theme, ‘Sowing the Seeds of Science – Nurturing Science for All’, it was a week of curiosity, experimentation and discovery. 🌱🔬 🔵⚫️🟡

Last night, our talented musicians took centre stage for the 2026 Co-Curricular Music Showcase, celebrating the creativity, dedication and passion that continue to thrive within the College’s Music Program. From our Drumlines, Bands and String Ensembles to the College Choir, Jazz Orchestra and College Orchestra, the evening showcased students at every stage of their musical journey, and the many hours of rehearsal, practice and perseverance behind each performance.🎼
We also applaud our Year 12 student leaders in this area of College life, Co-Curricular Music Captain Zachary C and Co-Curricular Cultural Prefect Christopher M, for their leadership, commitment and contribution to the Performing Arts at St Patrick’s.
Congratulations to all our performers on a wonderful evening of music and thank you to Head of Co-Curricular Music Dr David Taylor, our ensemble directors, tutors and staff, and the families who support our musicians throughout the year. 🔵⚫️🟡👏🎵
Yesterday, our 2027 Student Leadership Team was formally conferred at the Prefect Investiture Assembly. As always, it was a special occasion made even more so by the presence of parents who had the honour of pinning the leadership badges onto their sons’ ties. This simple gesture marks an important milestone and, no doubt, a moment of immense pride.
We congratulate all members of our 2027 Student Leadership Team, with a special mention to our newly appointed College Captains: Noah Y (Captain), Luca S (Vice Captain) and Sebastian A (Vice Captain). Congratulations, gentlemen. We have every confidence that you will lead our community with integrity and heart. 💙🖤💛

We had a fantastic finish to the 2026 ISA Tennis campaign, with three teams qualifying for the Grand Finals at Blacktown Tennis Centre. Division 4 capped off an outstanding season with a 5–1 victory over Oakhill to claim the ISA Premiership, while the Second IV and Third IV should be extremely proud of their efforts after finishing as runners‑up. Congratulations to all players, coaches and supporters, your commitment, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the year have been exceptional. 💪🔵🟡⚫️ 🎾

As we head into the pointy end of the Winter Sport season, the stakes are high, the finals are calling, and our boys are ready to give it everything this Saturday!
🎾At Blacktown Tennis Centre, our Second IV, Third IV and Fourth IV tennis teams take on Oakhill College, with ISA glory on the line.
🏉Over at St Gregory’s College, it’s Grand Final time! Our 16 A rugby side faces St Augustine’s, while our 14 A rugby boys take on Oakhill.
⚽️Meanwhile, our First XI, 16 A, 16 B, 16 C, 15 A, 15 D and 13 C football teams have already punched their tickets to the Grand Finals on 22 August. But there’s no shortage of football this weekend, with 14 SPC teams competing in their semi-finals at home across SPC2, SPC3 and Mason Park Synthetic.
So, whether you’re courtside, on the sideline or cheering from the fence, get out there, make some noise and get behind our boys! Let’s fill the sidelines with Blue, Black and Gold and show them what the SPC community is all about!🔵⚫️🟡

The month of August brings a renewed celebration of the joy of reading as we look ahead to Book Week. Students from across all year levels recently took part in the McGlade Library Book Character Drawing Competition, creating original, hand-drawn artworks inspired by their favourite literary characters. As you can see, the competition showcased many talented artists within the College, with an impressive number of Manga-inspired artworks among the entries received. Congratulations to our competition winners and to all who participated for helping us celebrate the wonderful connection between reading, creativity and imagination!🔵⚫️🟡📚
