At Montessori Academy, school readiness is always in season. It isn’t something that starts in the final few weeks before big school, but something that is built every day.

From independence and emotional regulation to concentration, communication and resilience, Montessori children progressively develop the skills they’ll rely on long before they step into a primary school classroom.

In their final year, this preparation becomes even more intentional. Children are introduced to learning experiences and formats that reflect what they’ll encounter at primary school, helping them become familiar with new expectations, routines and ways of learning.

Because being ready for school is about more than knowing letters and numbers. It’s about having the confidence, capability and foundations to thrive when the next chapter begins.

We’re pleased to see our partnership with Safe4Kids featured in The Sector helping keep the conversation around protective education and empowering children’s voices moving across the early childhood sector.

Launched during National Child Protection Week, this organisation-wide partnership will support more than 7,000 children and their families across more than 70 of our services.

Working with Safe4Kids Founder and Managing Director Holly-ann Martin OAM, we are strengthening protective education through specialist educator training, parent education and ongoing resources that create a shared language around child safety.

The partnership strengthens Pillar Six of our Seven Pillars of Child Safety: Empowering Children’s Voices, and forms part of our continued investment in the people, practices, systems and safeguards that support child safety every day.

What a way to celebrate the grand opening of Bankstown North Montessori Academy! 🎉

On Saturday 12 September, we were joined by hundreds of local families, Arabic drummers, festive lions, dancing robots and so much more - this was one for the books.

A special thank you to City of Canterbury Bankstown Deputy Mayor Rachelle Harika and Fr Anthony Azzi for joining us and helping make this day so memorable.

The opening was especially meaningful to our Co-Founder and CEO, Charles. Having grown up locally, bringing another Montessori Academy to the community makes this a very special homecoming.

Here’s to a new chapter of early learning, connection and community in Bankstown North. We can’t wait to see the little ones grow, learn and thrive here!

What happens when hundreds of parents, educators, community leaders, and child safety advocates come together in one room? Real conversations. Practical strategies. A shared commitment to protecting children.

This National Child Protection Week, Montessori Academy was proud to partner with Safe4Kids to launch a joint Protective Education Program, empowering children with the age-appropriate knowledge, language, and confidence to stay safe and seek help when they need it.

Thank you to Safe 4 Kids Director Holly-ann Martin OAM, Donna Davis MP Member for Parramatta and Parliamentary Committee on Children and Young People, and City of Parramatta Councillor Tanya Raffoul, and for helping make these important information sessions possible.

Every child deserves to feel safe, heard and empowered to speak up.

This National Child Protection Week, Montessori Academy is turning conversation into action through a new organisation-wide partnership with Safe4Kids, strengthening protective education for children, educators and families across more than 70 early learning services in NSW, Victoria and the ACT.

Aligned with this year’s theme, “Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action,” the partnership brings together specialist educator training, parent education and ongoing access to Safe4Kids protective education courses, tools and resources, creating a shared language around child safety across our community.

Led by child safety educator Holly-ann Martin OAM, with more than 30 years’ experience in child protection education, Safe4Kids will help children build an age-appropriate understanding of protective behaviours, personal boundaries, body safety, their rights and how to speak up and seek help.

Educators and families will be equipped with the knowledge, shared language and practical tools to listen, respond and act.

More than 7,000 children and families will be supported through the partnership.

Safe4Kids forms part of Montessori Academy’s Seven Pillars of Child Safety, strengthening Pillar Six: Empowering Children’s Voices across our community.
