🌸✨ Spring Magic in Our Explorers Room! 🌿🧪

Our little Explorers enjoyed a wonderful spring sensory tray experience, using their imagination to create magical potions!

Through scooping, pouring, mixing and transferring with tongs, spoons and cups, children strengthened their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and problem-solving abilities.

This playful experience encouraged curiosity, creativity and hands-on discovery, reminding us that meaningful learning happens through exploration! 💚

🥦 From Garden to Table – Fresh, Healthy & Homegrown! 🌱

Our little Adventurers took their garden-grown cauliflower from fresh produce to a delicious meal! 👩‍🍳😋

As part of our Farm to Table program, the children explored the journey of food from garden to plate and enjoyed tasting the results of their efforts. 🌿

Through this hands-on experience, children developed an appreciation for fresh food, explored healthy eating habits and discovered the importance of sustainability. These meaningful moments encourage children to make connections between nature, food and their everyday lives. 🌻💚

Our Adventurers became garden explorers as they harvested fresh cauliflower from our very own garden! 🌱💚

As part of our Farm to Table program, children are discovering where their food comes from and experiencing the joy of growing and harvesting their own produce. 🪴

From planting tiny seeds to harvesting fresh vegetables, every step is a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow and connect with the natural world. 🥬💚

Our little garden is thriving! 🌿🥬 The cabbages, cauliflowers, tomatoes 🍅, strawberries 🍓 and potatoes 🥔 planted by our children are growing beautifully, and we are eagerly waiting for harvest time! 🌱

Growing Together for School Readiness 🤩

At Little Zak’s Strathfield, school readiness is a journey that begins through play. ❤️

We welcomed a local allied health professional to support our families and educators in understanding developmental milestones from 2–5 years, and how meaningful play-based experiences at home and in the classroom can support children’s learning and development.

Through strong partnerships, we can support every child to grow as a confident, capable and curious learner.

🌿 Pause, Breathe & Find Your Calm 🌿

Our Adventurers took some time to slow down and reconnect with themselves through meditation in our Calm Corner. 🧘‍♀️✨

This mindful experience provided children with opportunities to develop self-regulation, emotional awareness and wellbeing, while learning simple strategies to calm their bodies and minds.

Through quiet breathing, relaxation and mindfulness, children are developing the ability to recognise how they feel, manage emotions and transition from active experiences into a calm and focused state. 🌱💚

Creating these moments of stillness supports children’s social and emotional development, resilience, concentration and growing independence, helping them build lifelong skills for wellbeing and learning.

At Little Zak’s Strathfield, we believe that caring for little minds is just as important as nurturing little bodies. 🤍🌿

Movement builds more than muscles. 🏃‍♂️⚽🏊 When kids run, kick, swim, and play, they’re developing motor skills, coordination, confidence, and resilience.

They’re learning teamwork, managing emotions, and discovering what their bodies can do. At Little Zak’s Academy, physical activity isn’t just downtime. It’s foundational learning. 🩵

Scroll to see why movement matters in early education.😍

Learning about germs isn’t just for our children!

Following our children’s recent germs experience, our Strathfield team also took part in a practical handwashing training.

After following their regular handwashing routine, educators used UV light to reveal any areas they may have missed.

A fun and powerful reminder of the importance of thorough handwashing to keep our children, families and team safe and healthy. 💛

Teaching children to be safe is teaching them to be confident. At Little Zak’s Academy, safety is woven through everything we do.

Recently at Little Zak’s Brookvale, In2Swim brought their expertise to our centre, equipping our early learners with water safety skills for life. From the pool to the beach to emergency response, our early learners are equipped with skills they’ll carry for life.

At Little Zak’s Academy Strathfield, our families’ voices are an important part of our learning journey. 💛

Following family input about children learning more about germs, our educators embedded this interest into the educational program through a fun, hands-on experience.

✨ Glitter became our pretend “germs”
🧼 Foaming soap helped us clean our hands
👐 Children practised rubbing their hands carefully
💦 And water washed the “germs” away!

Through play, our children explored how germs can spread and developed healthy handwashing and self-care habits. Most importantly, this experience shows how family input can become meaningful learning for our children. 🌱💚

One of the most powerful things we can teach children: your body belongs to you, and your voice matters.

We understand that leaving your child in someone else’s care comes with an enormous amount of trust.

That’s something we never take for granted.

Child safety is our highest priority, which is why we take great care in who we welcome into our Little Zak’s family.

Our rigorous recruitment process helps ensure every person who joins our team is someone we can trust to care for, protect and nurture the children in our centres.
