On Friday, our teachers and ESO staff participated in a professional learning day focused on improving how we check for student understanding. Inspired by research from Ryan Dunn and Bronwyn Ryrie-Jones, we’re applying practical strategies to ensure every student has opportunities to respond during a lesson. If you’d like to learn more, we’ve linked a resource here that highlights what our staff have been learning about.

Opportunities to respond keep students thinking, on task, and included. In this post, we explore OTR types and consider how to improve this aspect of practice.

Our building project is well underway. 🧱

The roof is on, walls are taking shape, and the spaces are starting to come together. From the outside progress to standing inside the future staff room overlooking the multipurpose area, it’s great to see it all taking form.
