You can have the best product or service in the market, but if the customer experience is inconsistent, it will eventually hold your business back.

Delivery mastery isn't just about what you sell, it's about how reliably you deliver it:

Consistent quality
Clear processes
Exceptional service
An easy buying experience

When customers know exactly what to expect every time they work with you, trust grows, referrals increase, and your business becomes easier to scale.

Excellence isn't achieved by chance. It's built through systems, standards, and a commitment to delivering on your promises.

How would your business score on this checklist?

POV: You're trying to get stronger, and your dog thinks you've made some very questionable life choices...

While I was exercising with my trainer (aka my husband), my dog sat silently the entire time, staring at him like he was personally responsible for whatever was happening to me.

The look on his face said exactly what I was already thinking, "I don't know what she's done to deserve this, but I expect answers."

It got me thinking... sometimes business growth feels exactly the same.

You start doing things differently.
You step outside your comfort zone.
You challenge yourself to grow.

And suddenly everyone (including your inner critic) is looking at you like, "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

But just like fitness, growth in business isn't always comfortable. Growth rarely happens when we stay where it's safe and familiar. The things that move us forward are often the things that make us a little uncomfortable first.

So, if you're stretching yourself, learning new skills, or finally putting a plan in place for your business, keep going.

Even if someone is watching you with the same concern my dog had... it only means they care!

This quote stopped me in my tracks.

Like many business owners, I have that voice in my head that loves to tell me all the reasons why I shouldn't do something. It reminds me of everything that could go wrong, every mistake I could make, and every possible negative outcome.

But here's the thing... None of it has happened.

It's simply fear doing what fear does best, trying to keep us safe by imagining worst-case scenarios. Fear is often just False Expectations Appearing Real.

The challenge is that if we always listen to fear, we stay exactly where we are.

Growth requires courage.

Courage isn't the absence of fear. Courage is choosing to move forward despite it. It's leaning into the uncomfortable conversation, launching the new service, hiring the next team member, raising your prices, or taking that first step towards a bigger goal.

Every breakthrough in your life and business probably started with something that once felt scary.

The boundaries you have today were once things you never thought were possible. Then you found the courage to take a step, and suddenly a new normal was created.

Because on the other side of courage is often the growth you've been looking for.

Being a business owner can be a lonely journey.

Sometimes we're so busy working in the business that it's hard to see the blind spots in our own thinking. We don't always know the questions we should be asking ourselves, let alone have someone there to challenge us, support us, and keep us accountable.

That's why once a quarter, I have the privilege of spending a full day with a group of amazing entrepreneurs who are committed to growing themselves and their businesses.

These days are filled with learning, accountability, planning, honest conversations, support, and plenty of healthy challenge. We work on our businesses, but more importantly, we work on ourselves as business owners. And along the way, there's camaraderie that comes from being surrounded by people who truly understand the road you're walking.

New people are always welcome! The only requirement is a genuine commitment to growth. I look for people who are willing to work on themselves as well as their business, create a clear plan for success, show up consistently, follow through on what they say they'll do, and deliver the level of service they promise.

When you bring together a room full of like-minded business owners, they naturally want to support each other's businesses. That's why it's important that every person in the room is committed to excellence and operates with integrity.

Who you surround yourself with matters. Our next group day is in a couple weeks, reach out if you would like to learn more!

Time is your most limited and most valuable resource.

Yet so many business owners spend their days reacting instead of leading, constantly busy, but not always productive.

Understanding where your time goes, what your time is worth, and how your team spends their time is one of the most powerful shifts you can make in business.

Because when you master time, you regain control.
You make clearer decisions.
You reduce overwhelm.
And you create more space for growth, profit, and life outside the business.

The reality is simple: If you don’t manage your time, it will manage you.

This is one of the key areas we’ll be diving into in my upcoming Business Planning & 101 Workshop, helping business owners build stronger systems, clearer priorities, and a business that works smarter, not harder.

After decades of triathlon being such a huge part of my life, there came a point where my feet and knees decided I’d run enough kilometres. Injuries forced me to step away from the sport I loved and focus on movement that was kinder to my body.

But the 25th anniversary of the Busselton Long Course was something special… and I felt drawn back for one last race.

To be honest, I was incredibly nervous. After not running for so many years, the thought of an 18km run felt overwhelming. This time wasn’t about racing my age group or chasing old PBs like I once would have. This was simply about participation, gratitude, and proving to myself that at 61 years old, I could still do hard things.

My goal was simple: finish and enjoy the experience.

And I did exactly that.

Seeing so many familiar faces I’ve trained and raced with over the decades was incredibly emotional. The encouragement out on the course lifted me more than people probably realised.

For anyone wondering how someone who “doesn’t run anymore” manages an 18km run… my strategy was simple:
1 minute run.
1 minute walk.
Only ever focus on the next minute.

And somehow, minute by minute, I got there.

Crossing that finish line meant I had the honour of being inducted into the Busselton Long Course Legends for completing 15+ long courses, and that is something I’ll treasure forever.

A huge thank you to Triathlon WA for encouraging me to come back one more time and giving me a renewed sense of determination. What a truly wonderful experience.

Your mindset matters more than you think.

The mindset and energy you bring into a challenge can influence the result before it even begins. Too often, people approach difficult situations expecting the worst; and that negative mindset can limit the opportunity for success.

Positive energy attracts positive outcomes and creates a far greater chance of achieving something amazing.

Choose positivity, back yourself, and give success the best chance to grow.

50 years ago, David Bussau made a decision that would go on to change millions of lives.

A man named Putu asked for $50 after a natural disaster destroyed his village, hoping for a little help to rebuild. Instead, David offered him a loan to buy a sewing machine. That single decision became the seed of microfinance and led to the creation of Opportunity International.

Fast forward to today, and over 50 million people have been given the opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty through small, purposeful loans.

I had the absolute honour of being part of the 50-year celebrations and reflecting on the impact of one idea, an idea grounded in dignity, not dependency.

What strikes me most is this: the purpose behind these small businesses is no different to the business owners I work with every day here in Australia. Whether it’s seeds to grow crops, a repaired sewing machine, or a few chickens to sell eggs… it’s about creating a future, providing for family.

Many of these loan recipients are mothers, raising children on their own, striving to keep them safe, fed, educated, and hopeful. The same hopes we all share.

Over a decade ago, after reading David’s story, I made a quiet commitment to myself to one day be involved in something like this. Supporting this work now feels deeply aligned with what I do every day: helping people grow their businesses, build something meaningful, and change their future.

And at 85, David is still going: still building, still innovating, still living his purpose. How lucky we are to have people like him that in our midst.

A powerful reminder that true impact comes from staying committed to something bigger than yourself.

Big congratulations to another incredible entrepreneur from our mastermind community!

Every single year we have winners coming out of this group, and it’s honestly so amazing to see. This year, Justin Barnes was recognised not only as a Business News 40 Under 40 winner, but also received the City of Perth Strategic Alliance Award, which recognised his ability to build partnerships, mobilise networks, and create meaningful impact across the Perth business community.

Justin is the epitome of what 40 Under 40 is all about: pushing boundaries, taking risks, going the extra mile to help others, and continuing to push through fear no matter what stands in the way.

This is what happens when purpose, persistence, community, and entrepreneurship all come together!

We’re incredibly proud to have Justin as part of our mastermind community and can’t wait to see what’s next.
