Secret Garden Playgroup Secret Garden Playgroup is ideal for children aged 2 to 12 years. Homeschool compatible! $35 per child per session charged at a term rate.

We offer full day and half day sessions that include bush school activities, cooking, AUSLAN, STEM learning, literacy, numeracy, craft and self-esteem building. Discounts given for siblings.

Science Week at Secret Garden got a little bit cuter this week when some new kids visited!

We were so lucky to have one of our beautiful families bring in their baby goats for the children to meet, cuddle and learn from.

There’s something pretty special about learning with a warm little animal tucked into your lap!

The children were able to observe them up close, ask questions, notice their features and behaviours, and learn more about how they grow and are cared for.

Science doesn’t always need to happen at a desk — sometimes it has floppy ears, tiny hooves and gives the best cuddles.

A very big thank you to our Secret Garden family for sharing their gorgeous babies with us and adding a little farmyard magic to our Science Week.

National Science Week at Secret Garden

A little glimpse into a very full week of science learning at Secret Garden!

As part of our National Science Week curriculum, we took a Pollinator Survey along on our bush walk. Armed with clipboards and pencils, the children searched for flowering plants, observed their visitors, counted pollinators and recorded what they discovered.

We talked about what makes an animal a pollinator, the role pollinators play in our ecosystems, why they're so important, and the different ways we can help protect and support them.

The kids absolutely loved gathering their own information — there was lots of excitement each time another pollinator was spotted!

This was just one small part of a huge week of science exploration and learning.

We'll be sharing more little glimpses into our National Science Week curriculum over the coming days.

After a well-earned break, we were so happy to welcome our Secret Garden families back for the first week of Term 3!

The weather certainly kept us on our toes, but a little rain wasn't going to stop us. Together we embraced the wild outdoors, built shelters, gathered around the fire, and cooked warm treats while the children explored, created and worked as a team.

One of the loveliest parts of the day was seeing old friends reconnect and welcoming several new families into our Secret Garden community. It already feels like it's going to be a wonderful term of nature, adventure and friendship.

Here's to muddy boots, smoky campfires, smiling faces, and another season of learning!

Wilderness Survival Skills Workshop

Join us for a day of adventure, creativity and practical bushcraft skills at Secret Garden Playgroup!

Together we'll learn to:

Build shelters
Explore fire safety
Cook outdoors
Construct a water filter
Use maps and navigation
Practice knots and rope skills
Work together through challenges
Create nature-inspired crafts

A wholesome day of hands-on learning, teamwork and nature connection for children aged 4–12 years.

✨ Winter Solstice at Secret Garden ✨
This week we gathered to celebrate the return of the light. Together we learnt about the winter solstice, created beautiful lanterns to brighten the season, and shared in one of our favourite traditions — a community soup, lovingly made with a vegetable brought by each family. Fresh bread baked in the kitchen completed our simple feast.
There is something so special about slowing down, creating with our hands, sharing food, and celebrating the rhythms of the seasons together.
Thank you to all the wonderful families who helped make our winter solstice celebration so warm and memorable.

☁️ CLOUD WEEK ☁️

We explored how clouds form, learnt about the different types of clouds, and even created our own cloud in a jar experiment — which was absolutely magical to watch!
The children then got hands-on with soft cloud dough, shaping and creating their own cloud models while chatting about the fluffy cirrus clouds, towering cumulonimbus clouds, and gentle stratus skies we had been studying.

One of my favourite parts of homeschooling and play-based learning is that we learn right alongside the children… and honestly, I learnt so much this week too!

Science, sensory play, creativity, wonder, and muddy little boots — just the way we like it!
