A photo from the last session of our Term 2 sewing group.
Our Years 3 to 6 students each received a certificate and some take-home projects to finish off. Throughout the term, every one of them made at least one handmade Christmas decoration.
Next term we will have a whole new group of sewing artists ready to create.
Sewing Club is back in Term 3, Wednesday lunchtimes, weeks 2 to 9. Open to students who missed out last time. Limited to 20 spaces, register on QKR.

How your child handles a friendship that goes wrong at eight sets the pattern for how they’ll handle one at sixteen. The conversations you have now are what make the harder ones easier later.

Stronger Families: A Positive Parenting Conference brings together three people who spend their working lives helping parents through it, from primary through to the teenage years.

Madhavi Nawana Parker on friendship difficulties and bullying in the primary years. Dr Justin Coulson on raising boys through every stage. Wayne Holdsworth on starting conversations early, before they get hard.

Saturday 22 August, Sanctuary at Adelaide Zoo, 10am to 3pm. Lunch included.

Tickets are $25, subsidised by Catholic School Parents SA - CSPSA because we want every family to have the chance to be there.

Wherever your child is at, this is a day of real, practical guidance for the years ahead.

The Positive Parenting Conference will bring together four expert speakers to guide parents on topics of bullying, friendships and social media.

We asked our students what they wish grown ups knew.

Their answers were a good reminder, right as the holidays begin.

Have a wonderful break. We will see you all in Term 3.

This week, classes have been pausing during lunch for shared storytime over the school speaker.

Five stories from First Nations authors and illustrators, read aloud each day by staff and students, with the pictures up on classroom screens so children can listen and look together.

The whole school, gathered around the same story, at the same time.

NAIDOC Week starts next week. This was a good place to begin.

Last week, ten caterpillars arrived in Tayla’s Reception class, donated by a local Hills childcare centre.

This morning the children came in to find the first chrysalis had already formed. Right next to it, another caterpillar still making its way.

They are watching the whole story unfold, one day at a time.

Yesterday morning, Reception to Year 2 gathered for liturgy with Father Fred, led by Year 1JM

The theme was the Kingdom of God. What it looks like. How we build it. And why it starts with how we treat the person right next to us.

Father Fred has a way of making young children think. Today was no different.

Two of our students, Toni-Mari and Mackenzie, were selected from a district-wide carnival to represent their region at SAPSASA Netball last week.

Out of everyone who tried out, they made the top 20 selected players and competed across nine games over three days.

We are really proud of them both.

Well done girls 💚❤️

A reminder that our next Principal Tour is this Thursday, 25 June at 9:15am.
If you have been thinking about St Catherine's, this is the easiest way to get a feel for the place. Book your spot at the link in our bio.
And if you know a family with a little one coming up to school age, feel free to pass this on. The best introductions usually come from people who already know us.
