Huge congratulations to Vicki Cooper, our Trainer and Assessor, who's been named a finalist for Trainer/Teacher of the Year for the 2026 South Australian Training Awards. 🎉
Vicki delivers training across the Yorke Peninsula and Mid North, which means regularly getting out to services in person rather than expecting regional learners to come to her. Her high-contact model, combining site visits with flexible online support, is exactly the kind of thinking that closes the gap geography usually creates. Diverse learners get the same access to high-quality, face-to-face vocational education as anyone in the city, and that's not a small thing to build.

What stands out most is how closely Vicki works with employers to make sure training actually matches what happens on the floor of a real service, so graduates walk in job-ready rather than theory-ready. 🎉 We're absolutely thrilled to share that ELC Training Australia has been named a finalist for SA Training Awards 2026 in Small Provider of the Year category. 🎉

This one belongs to every trainer who's shown up fortnightly, face to face, to make sure our students aren't just passing units but genuinely becoming excellent educators. It belongs to every partner centre that opened its doors and let our students learn in real rooms, with real children, from day one. And it belongs to every student who's put in the work to meet the high standards this profession deserves.

We're a small team. We think that's exactly why we can do this well. Being small means we know our students by name, we notice when someone's struggling before it becomes a problem, and we can actually live the values we talk about instead of just writing them into a policy document.

The Federal Government has committed a further $3.6 billion to lock in the 15% pay rise for early childhood educators across Australia. At ELC Training Australia, we wholeheartedly welcome this announcement.❤
Early educators shape the foundation years of a child's life. That is not an overstatement. Research consistently shows that the quality of care and learning in the early years has a direct impact on a child's development, school readiness, and long-term outcomes. This is some of the most important work in the country, and it deserves to be paid accordingly.
Since the pay rise was first implemented in December 2024, approximately 20,000 more workers have entered the ECEC workforce and job vacancies have fallen by nearly 31%. The profession is growing, stabilising, and earning the recognition it has long deserved.
We train people for this profession every day. Our students learn inside real, operational early learning centres from day one, because that is how great educators are built. When they graduate, they are ready to make a real difference.
