💙💛 LOVED ONES DAY BBQ – THURSDAY 3 SEPTEMBER! 💛💙

We can’t wait to celebrate the special people in our students’ lives at our Loved Ones Day BBQ this Thursday! 🥰🌭

📅 Thursday 3 September
⏰ From 2:00pm
📍 School Hall

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents & Loved Ones attending: From 2:00pm, you are welcome to collect your student from their classroom and join them in the hall for our BBQ and celebration.

🌭 Students with money: Students who have funds will be sent down from 2:00pm.

🎉 All other students: Students who are not attending with a parent or loved one will be sent down to the hall at 2:25pm, if they choose to participate.

🎟️ DON’T FORGET OUR AMAZING RAFFLE! 🎟️

🚌✨ South Bank, Queensland Museum & SparkLab Excursion! 🔬🦖
What a fantastic day our Year 2/3, 3/4 and 5/6 students had today exploring South Bank, the Queensland Museum and SparkLab!
Our adventure began at South Bank, where students explored some of Brisbane’s well-known tourist attractions and landmarks, making real-world connections to their current HASS learning about local places and holiday destinations. 🌏🏙️
We then headed to the Queensland Museum and SparkLab, where there was plenty to see, discover and investigate! With more than 40 interactive exhibits, students had the opportunity to experiment, problem-solve, ask questions and put their Science, Mathematics and Technology learning into action. 🔍⚙️💡
There was certainly lots of excitement, curiosity and hands-on learning throughout the day — and plenty of fun along the way!
A huge thank you to our wonderful staff who put so much time and effort into organising and coordinating today’s excursion. Days like this take an enormous amount of work behind the scenes, and we are very grateful. ❤️
We would also like to say a very special thank you to our fantastic parent helpers who joined us today. Your time, support and extra sets of hands helped make the day such a successful and enjoyable experience for our students.
What a brilliant day of learning beyond the classroom for our Somerset Hills students! 🌟

📚✨ BOOK WEEK PARADE 2026! ✨📚
What a brilliant morning we had at Somerset Hills for our Book Week Parade! 🌟
Our students absolutely blew us away with their creativity and enthusiasm. We had narwhals, flying cars, Lightning McQueen, butterflies, giraffes, crayons, witches, superheroes and so many more incredible characters parading through our school! 🦋🦒🖍️🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️🏎️
A HUGE thank you to our wonderful families for coming along this morning to cheer on our students and celebrate with us. 💕 We know just how much time, imagination and hard work goes into creating Book Week costumes, and they were truly brilliant! Seeing our students so proud and excited to show them off made the morning very special.
We were also delighted to welcome Councillor Danita Parry and Luke Richmond MP, Member for Stafford, to join us for our parade. Thank you both for taking the time to celebrate Book Week with our students and for your continued support of our Somerset Hills community. 📚💫
Most importantly, congratulations to our amazing students! We loved seeing your favourite books and characters come to life. What a fantastic celebration of books, reading and imagination! 📖🌈
