UQ MARS UQ MARS (Mechatronics and Robotics Society) is a community for anyone with a keen passion for robots!

A student-run society within the University of Queensland, UQ MARS aim to foster the development of the robotics skills of our members. We do this through a variety of extra-curricular activities, including competition teams, support workshops and social events. Membership is open to any UQ student and not just limited to those in the Engineering faculty.

Save the date everyone! The UQ MARS AGM has been locked in. Nominations for executive roles are still open up until 5pm of the AGM date. Even if you’re not running for an executive role, we encourage you to show up and support everyone running and to see the trajectory of UQ MARS in the near future. Ever wondered about what topic your future thesis could be on? Maybe you’re a Masters student wondering what a placement might look like? Perhaps you’re just a curious soul wondering what’s going on in UQ’s research spaces. 

The UQ MARS Networking Night is back for Semester 2, and this time we are answering all your burning questions surrounding the mystical thesis! With a panel answering your burning thesis questions into a night of mingling away, this event is open to all. We particularly invite UQ Bachelor of Engineering/Masters of Engineering Masters Thesis students, past and present, and the many researcher teams to this wonderful event to share their experiences and research with us!

He’ll be going through a hands-on control system workshop tailored for your learning. It’ll be good to know for anyone interested in going through how MATLAB could be used for their projects. And, as always, don’t worry about dinner because we’ve got you covered.

It’s Tuesday and that means it’s workshop time. Get ready for Part 2 of the PCB workshop. This time we’ll be joined by EBESS! And all you’ll need is a laptop with KiCAD installed. No stress if you missed the first PCB workshop. We’ll be going off a completed schematic and learn different knowledge in this one.

We’ve made the announcement on our discord (which you can join through our Linktree) as well but here is what you should bring for tonight’s first UQ MARS’ CAD workshop: a laptop with Fusion360 and a computer mouse (recommended). You can install a free educational version of Fusion360 using your student email from the Autodesk website.

Don’t worry about dinner because we’ll be providing pizza, so make sure to come along!
