Wednesday is our Curiosity day!

Curiosity is our introductory program for students looking to develop their entrepreneurial thinking and problem-solving skills. Last week, we kicked off with 80 students filling the room.

Students told us that they enjoyed meeting new people, learning to think more deeply and critically about challenges, and feeling excited about what comes next.

Being an entry level program, it provides a great opportunity to learn why students are taking the time to engage with entrepreneurship. The students’ top 3 reasons were:

1️⃣ Learning how to solve a problems and create social impact
2️⃣ Launching a startup
3️⃣ Building confidence / stepping outside their comfort zone

Six months ago, Tenmayi walked into the Ventures x Emmanuel College Hackathon and left thinking she wasn’t cut out for entrepreneurship.

Her team didn't win. The pitch didn't land. But Tenmayi kept showing up.

Since then, Tenmayi has been:
• accepted into the UQ Ventures Validate program for 2026
• selected as a Women in Computing Student Leader at UQ
• returned to the hackathon stage and won the People's Choice Award for Best Pitch
• built lasting friendships and connections with fellow innovators, founders and students across the UQ community
