As Semester 1 draws to a close, we are reflecting on a busy and memorable few months at St John’s College.
From the arrival of our newest Johnians and a memorable O’Week, to carrying that spirit into a jam-packed ICC calendar, Semester 1 really was one to remember. We took away six major wins, including the Swimming Carnival, Hockey, Band Fest and Chess, we also saw an outstanding win in Women’s Table Tennis and took home The Annual Four Feet Trophy against Emmanuel in the Rowing.
Beyond the ICC calendar, the semester was equally full of standout events and opportunities to bring our wider community together. We hosted the International Women’s Day Breakfast with guest speaker Nas Campanella, transformed Chapel Lawn into a concert space for Johns Fest, hosted Family Night and Jazz Night, and ended the semester with our National Reconciliation Week Lunch, where we were honoured to hear from Aunty Evelyn Parkin.
We hope our students enjoy a well-earned break from their studies, and we can’t wait for Semester 2 🤩

Women in Leadership High Tea ☕️🍰
Yesterday, we welcomed Professor Kerrie Wilson and Ms Jane Crombie as guest speakers for our Women in Leadership High Tea.
The morning gave our female student leaders the opportunity to hear practical insights from two remarkable women in our community.
Reflecting on the event, Hannah Aston, Senior Residential Advisor, shared that leadership is not about having the loudest voice, but about creating opportunities, supporting others, and leading with authenticity and confidence. Hearing Jane Crombie speak reinforced the importance of staying true to your values while navigating professional environments.
We are so grateful to have opportunities like these for our residents.
A special thank you to the Chartwells team for the beautiful setup and delicious spread!

The event was brought together by our Equity and Inclusion Officers, Nick, Tilly, and Soph, with the aim of celebrating the diversity within our student community.
The night was a huge success, and we’re incredibly grateful to for an amazing performance, as well as for being part of the celebration.
