The Honourable Justice Collier is inviting interested law students to attend this upcoming information session. Congratulations to our 2026 UQ Law School Vis Team โ they travelled to Sydney this week to compete in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb), Australia Pre Moot as part of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition, and were crowned Grand Champions!
A phenomenal result for Ella Woods (also awarded best speaker in the general rounds), Robbie Gilbert, Jackson Hanigan, Sophie Szabo, Yasmin Sparks and their coaches Paivi Adeniyi, Madelize Breet, Emily Johns and Tim Rainbird.
The Grand Final tribunal included eminent independent arbitrators Professor Doug Jones AO, and Professor Janet Walker CM, and Hon AJ (Tony) Meagher SC.
Sincere thanks to Ciarb, HFW, Ashurst, Clifford Chance, Cliftons, and Sky Discovery for making the event possible.
We wish our team continued success and the best of luck for next week as they travel to Paris for the ICC Pre Moot and to Vienna for the oral rounds of the main competition.

Written and performed entirely by law students, the Law R***e is a musical-comedy extravaganza that draws sell-out crowds in August each year. Chock-a-block with topical sketches and ridiculous song parodies, R***e is defining part of the Law School experience.
Audition sign-on is OPEN for Cast, Chorus and Band. Applications are also OPEN for Backstage and Costumes, and they are accepting expressions of interest for the role of Assistant Choreographer.

As a student, you can join a free tour of Queenslandโs largest court building with Supreme Court Library Queensland.
This is a great chance to gain tips on reading the daily law list, courtroom etiquette and navigating the building. During the tour you will explore the Banco Court and a criminal or civil courtroom (subject to availability), contemporary public artwork and the judicial portrait gallery, current exhibitions, and the Supreme Court Library Queensland.

๐กJoin Protocol's Launch Celebration in Brisbane for a panel discussion on 'Navigating the Future of Australian AI Policy' ๐ก
The panel will feature leading Australian experts in AI regulation including the Queensland Privacy Commissioner and the CEO of the Queensland AI Consortium. Panellists will share their perspectives on the key priorities for AI policymakers, and what the coming years of AI regulation are likely to look like.
The evening will conclude with a networking discussion where the audience of students and professionals will be invited to reflect on emerging challenges in technology governance and the role young people can play in shaping Australiaโs policy response. ๐ญ
