Kinderclub update
Apologies for the long delay since our last post. There has been a lot happening behind the scenes in our sector, and it can be hard to find time to edit photos carefully for child safety reasons.
On 27 April, shortly after Anzac Day, a small group of Kinder children visited the Shrine of Remembrance to learn about the Anzacs. Unfortunately, several children were away due to holidays or illness.
As you can see from the photos, the children had a wonderful time exploring, observing and learning as they walked around. When they reached the large overhanging poppy outside the Education Centre, a kind staff member came out to give each child a poppy and explain the meaning of Anzac Day. After her talk, she invited the children into the Sanctuary, where they were able to lay their poppies.
It was a fantastic experience, and the staff member commented on how wonderful it was to see children of this age visiting and learning about such an important part of Australian history.
Yes, they got to have a play at the end.
