🌿 Grandparents Day is coming! 💙

We are so excited to welcome our wonderful grandparents to Holy Spirit Primary on Friday, 21 August for a special day of learning, connection and celebration. 💕📚

From joining their grandchildren in the classroom to morning tea, our Book Fair and a special Grandparents Day Assembly led by Year 4, it will be a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the love and wisdom our grandparents bring to our school community.

Today we celebrate Australian Primary Principal’s Day and recognise the incredible leadership of our wonderful principal, Mrs Garzaniti.

From greeting every student with a warm smile each morning to supporting learning in classrooms and connecting with students in the playground, Mrs Garzaniti leads with compassion, dedication, and heart. She inspires our entire school community every day and helps every child believe in their potential.

Thank you, Mrs Garzaniti, for your unwavering commitment to our students, staff, and families. We are so grateful for all that you do.

🎨 Year 1 Art Adventure: 3D Art & Nature! 🌿 This week, our Year 1 artists explored 3D Art, Sculpture, and Photography, learning how 3D pieces are shaped to be viewed from all sides rather than staying flat on paper. We drew inspiration from First Nations artists like Lorraine Connelly-Northey, Yvonne Koolmatrie, and the Erub Arts collective, who weave and shape scavenged materials, sedge grass, and ghost nets into coolamons, woven animals, and marine life. We also looked at Andy Goldsworthy’s temporary nature sculptures captured through photography. Want to try a quick activity at home? Head into the garden with your child to gather leaves, twigs, and stones, build a 3D ground sculpture together, and snap a picture of their creation—feel free to share your photo in the comments below!

🤸 Year 4 had a wonderful time at Zing last Wednesday, developing the foundational skills of gymnastics! Students built their balance, coordination, strength, and confidence while challenging themselves and having lots of fun. We can't wait to see their skills continue to grow! 🌟

📚✨ Welcome Back to Term 3! ✨📚
Our school was buzzing with excitement today as we welcomed our students back for the first day of Term 3!

It was wonderful to see smiling faces, hear holiday stories, and watch friendships reconnect as our classrooms came alive once again. We are looking forward to a term filled with learning, growth, faith and new opportunities for every student.

As we begin this new term, we also embrace our 2026 school theme, "Belong to Something Greater." Together, we will continue to build a community where every child knows they are valued, connected and called to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

🎈 100 Days of School is UP! 🎈
Adventure is out there, and our amazing kindergarteners have been exploring it for 100 whole days! 🎒✨
From counting to 100 to growing by leaps and bounds, these little explorers have officially earned their "100 Days Smarter" badges. Just like Carl and Russell, we’ve learned that the greatest adventures are the ones we share together. 🏠🎈
Thank you to our incredible teachers, staff, and parents for helping our students' imaginations soar higher than a house lifted by balloons!

💙 Thank You, Holy Spirit Community! 💙

Our hearts are full! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our students and families, we collected close to 800 items for our St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal.

Joan, Janette and Margaret from the St Vincent de Paul Society were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our school community. Your donations will bring comfort and hope to those in need this winter.

Any final donations can be left at the front office tomorrow. Thank you for making a difference and for living out our Gospel values. 💙🙏
