🛠️ 2027 WesTEC SIGN-UPS NOW OPEN

Students who will be in Years 10–12 in 2027 can now sign up for Westec Technical Training and Pathways programs!

WesTEC offers practical, industry-focused qualifications across automotive, construction, engineering, electrotechnology, plumbing, aviation, hospitality, hair and beauty, health, community services, business, justice studies and more.

Many programs provide hands-on training, QCE points and valuable pathways towards further study and employment.

Building Skills, Building Futures 🦺🔨

Our WesTEC Certificate I in Construction students are putting their skills into practice as they complete their course with Hutchies Training at the Hutchies Training Campus in Seventeen Mile Rocks.

From constructing and assembling timber projects to painting and giving existing structures a fresh new look, our students are gaining valuable hands-on experience in a real training environment.

Working with industry-standard tools, materials and equipment, students are developing practical construction skills while also building the confidence, teamwork and workplace behaviours they need for their next steps.

A huge thank you to Hutchies Training for providing our students with such a great opportunity to learn, create and experience what life in the construction industry is really like! 👏

At WesTEC, students don’t just learn about industries - they experience them.

UPDATE- EXTENDED DATES

🚨 Community Notice – Planned Hazard Reduction Burns 🚨

WesTEC would like to advise our students, families and school community that planned hazard reduction burns have been extended until the 23rd of August 2026 (weather permitting).

As WesTEC is located within the surrounding area, smoke from these planned burns may impact local air quality during this period.

Burn Details:
📍 Greenbank Training Area, Goodna Road, Greenbank
🗓️ 4–23 August 2026 (weather permitting)
🕘 Burning will take place between 9:00am and 4:00pm

Students with respiratory conditions such as asthma, or anyone who may be sensitive to smoke, are encouraged to take any necessary precautions and monitor how they are feeling throughout the day.

If you have any concerns regarding your child's attendance or wellbeing during this time, please contact the WesTEC team at [email protected].

Thank you for your understanding as these important hazard reduction activities are carried out to help reduce bushfire risk in our community.

I never need an excuse to spruik Westec Technical Training and Pathways in ! 🙌

Today, I was very pleased to bring my colleague Michael Healy MP all the way from to see the incredible training and skills programs being offered at WesTEC.

Importantly, Michael is also the Shadow Minister for Jobs and Training.

He was blown away by this fantastic partnership model where our schools and industry come together 🤝 to deliver real jobs and opportunities for young people in our region.
