Empowered Therapy and Training is seeking an experienced and qualified Art Therapist to join our team. As an Art Therapist, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic support to our clients using the creative process of art-making.
*Responsibilities*
- Conducting individual and group therapy sessions using art therapy interventions.
- Developing treatment plans that address clients' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs.
- Using art therapy to address clients' needs, such as improving communication, reducing anxiety, or increasing self-esteem.
- Assessing clients' artistic abilities and preferences to create personalized therapy plans.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to clients.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of clients' therapy sessions and progress.
- Providing counselling and support to clients and their carers to help them manage their mental health.
*Qualifications*
- Art Therapy Degree OR Master's Degree in Art Therapy OR Transpersonal Art Therapy Diploma OR Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapy
- ANZACATA Registration OR Equivalent Membership Registration
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check - in your state)
- Yellow Card (NDIS Disability Worker Screening)
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to therapy.
- Proficient in a variety of art mediums and techniques.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

🔹 Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
🔹 Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
🔹 Identify triggers and functions of behaviours of concern
🔹 Develop proactive and reactive strategies
🔹 Monitor, reduce and eliminate restrictive practices
🔹 Collect and analyse behavioural data
🔹 Train and support families, carers and support workers
🔹 Collaborate with participants and multidisciplinary teams
🔹 Ensure compliance with NDIS requirements and relevant legislation
🔹 Promote participant rights, dignity, choice and quality of life

REQUIREMENTS

✔ Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or related field
✔ Registered or suitable as an NDIS PBS Practitioner
✔ Experience in Behaviour Support Plans and Functional Behaviour Assessments
✔ Knowledge of NDIS requirements and restrictive practices
✔ Strong communication, analytical and report-writing skills
✔ Compassionate, person-centred and professional approach
✔ Relevant worker screening and Working with Children checks
✔ Current driver's licence where required
