STATE HONOURS ENSEMBLE PROGRAM | Congratulations to Carter S, who was selected to participate in the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University during the school holidays.

As a vocalist, Carter joined talented young musicians from across Queensland for an intensive ensemble program, with the opportunity to rehearse and perform under conductor Jonathan Welsh.

SKI & SNOWBOARD ADVENTURE | From Springfield to the slopes of Queenstown, our Years 10–12 students recently enjoyed an unforgettable week skiing and snowboarding across The Remarkables, Coronet Peak and Cardrona.

A huge thank you to the parents and teachers whose planning and support helped make the trip possible. Opportunities like this give our students the chance to try something new, enjoy time together and make memories well beyond the classroom.

NATIONAL HPE WEEK | In Term 3, our Primary Years students celebrated ACHPER’s National HPE Week with plenty of movement, teamwork and fun!

Classes took on a HPE Bingo Challenge, working together to complete activities focused on movement, healthy habits, mindfulness, sportsmanship and teamwork.

It was wonderful to see students across the Primary Years embracing the spirit of HPE by moving, connecting, challenging themselves and having fun together.

GBC SPORT | In our inaugural year of GBC Sport, St Peters Springfield has seen significant growth in both student participation and the number of teams representing the College.

This growth reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of our students, together with the dedication of the coaches who have supported and strengthened the program throughout the season.

STUDENT-LED LEARNING | At the end of Term 3, our Primary Years students welcomed their families into their classrooms and specialist learning areas, taking the lead as they shared their work, explained their thinking and demonstrated the experiences that shape their everyday learning.

From Year 2 students demonstrating the sound communication devices they had constructed to Year 5 students exploring light through inquiry-based activities with light boxes, families saw curiosity and confidence in action.

It was a wonderful opportunity for families to experience the classroom through their children’s eyes, while giving students the chance to proudly share their progress, achievements and growth throughout the year.

KINDY TO YEAR 2 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL | Our youngest athletes took to the oval for a fun-filled morning of movement, participation and plenty of encouragement.

Students rotated through a range of track and field activities including sprints, hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put and vortex throw, with the focus firmly on having a go, developing new skills and cheering on their classmates.

It was wonderful to see our Kindy to Year 2 students embracing the day with enthusiasm and confidence as they celebrated movement and enjoyed being active together.

YEAR 4 CAMP | Learning beyond the classroom came to life for our Year 4 students during three days at Somerset Camp, where they were challenged to build confidence, resilience, independence and teamwork through a range of outdoor activities.

From the Koala Climb and archery to orienteering, shelter building and the Burma Trail, students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, problem-solve together and support one another through new challenges.

Throughout the camp, it was wonderful to see students encouraging their peers, persevering when things felt difficult and celebrating each other’s achievements.

Experiences like camp help students grow in confidence, strengthen friendships and discover what they are capable of beyond the classroom. These opportunities continue across the College from Prep to Year 12, including our iconic Year 9 Ironbark Outdoor Education Program.

U11 WDNA PREMIERS | Congratulations to our St Peters Springfield U11 WDNA team, who were crowned Division 3 Premiers on Saturday!

The girls delivered a fantastic Grand Final performance, showcasing skill, determination and teamwork before pulling away in the second half to secure the win.

The achievement caps off an outstanding season, with the team finishing undefeated after being elevated from Division 4 following grading earlier in the year.

A special part of this year’s success was seeing the team coached by St Peters old scholars Ella and Leilani, both members of the College’s Vicki Wilson Cup Championship-winning team. Having former students return to mentor and inspire our younger athletes is a wonderful example of the strong sporting pathways and sense of community being built at St Peters Springfield.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS | Congratulations to Year 10 student Olivia G on an outstanding performance representing Australia at the 2026 World Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships.

Olivia claimed bronze in the Girls 16–17 Years 7.5km event, finishing in 1:29:26.20 and securing Australia’s first-ever medal at a World Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championship. In an incredibly close race, just 3.7 seconds separated the three medallists after more than 90 minutes of racing.

She also represented Australia in the 3km Knockout Sprint, finishing sixth overall and becoming the only Australian swimmer to progress through every round and reach the final.

An exceptional achievement on the world stage. Congratulations, Olivia, on representing St Peters Springfield and Australia with distinction.
