Today our Kindy room enjoyed a special incursion with Urban Native Bees 🐝
The children learned about our beehive, how it works, and the important role bees play in caring for our environment. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that deepened their understanding and appreciation of these amazing little creatures and teaching children about bee conservation 🌼

This week, so many of our kindergarten friends took the big step and started school . What a fun and exciting milestone! 🎒✨
To celebrate, last week we enjoyed a week full of beautiful experiences, including a relaxing sip-and-paint session (complete with delicious juice boxes 🧃🎨). It was the perfect way to reflect, unwind, and get excited for what’s ahead.
We hope all of our brand-new preppies have had an absolutely fantastic first week of school. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll achieve! 💛🌈

At our centre, we place a strong focus on early literacy and oral language development from the very beginning. Our educators have undertaken extensive professional learning, including development with speech therapists and pathologists from Speld Kindy, specialists in children’s feeding, and training in technology that supports communication.
We understand that reading to children is not something reserved for a single moment in the day, it happens often, intentionally, and with joy. Through shared stories, songs and rhymes, we nurture language, connection and a lifelong love of books.
When children are read to frequently, with enthusiasm and warmth, they learn that reading matters and that they matter. These moments help build strong foundations for future literacy success, starting right here in our babies’ rooms

We truly believe that creating magical moments for children, where they can have fun, explore, imagine and learn through play is the foundation of an amazing early education experience.
Our Treasure Cove Studio is known for its exciting provocations, thoughtfully set up to engage children’s interests and ignite their natural curiosity.
Here we can see children exploring chemical reactions and cause-and-effect through our potion-making station 🧪✨ Mixing, experimenting and wondering “what happens if…?” -learning at its very best.

What a special way to celebrate the end of the year and our Kindergarten graduation 🎓✨
We are so incredibly proud of our Kindergarten children as they get ready to start Prep next year. Watching their confidence, independence and love of learning grow has been such a joy.
Throughout the year, all of our Kindergarten children take part in a dedicated school-readiness program, including exploring schools and learning about what to expect, to help them feel confident and excited for their next big step.

One of our Haven Place friends recently returned from holidays with some beautiful shells to share with their friends 🐚
Our amazing educator Miss Gabi turned this thoughtful gift into a wonderful small world play experience for our children.
What you’ll need to try this at home:
• Shells
• A shallow dish or tray
• Toy animals
• Water
• Cornflour
• Food colouring
Simply mix the water, cornflour and food colouring, add the shells and toy animals to the dish, pour in the mixture and let the children explore, create and imagine 🌊✨
Small world play encourages curiosity, creativity and sensory exploration and our friends loved every minute!

At Guardian Childcare & Education Springfield Central, our Life Skills Program is designed to help create confident global citizens. As part of this program, we asked our families what they value most for their children to learn.
One of the strongest pieces of feedback we received was the importance of kindness, compassion, and a strong sense of community 🤍
Inspired by this, our children, families, and team came together to collect Christmas essentials and gifts for patients who will be receiving treatment or staying in hospital on Christmas Day.
We were so proud to deliver these donations to the Mater Hospital last week and to help spread a little joy during what can be a challenging time for many.
Thank you to our incredible community for showing our children what kindness in action truly looks like 🎄✨

Today in our Treasure Cove Studio We explored Christmas transient art, using loose parts and festive materials to create beautiful, temporary designs. The children enjoyed arranging, experimenting and redesigning their creations,knowing it was all about the process, not the finished product.
