Many of you may have noticed the smoky conditions across Springfield and the surrounding areas lately. The smoke is being caused by a number of planned hazard reduction burns taking place in nearby areas.

This year's theme, "Valuing OSHC Educators Every Day," is a wonderful reminder that the care, passion and dedication our educators show isn't just something to celebrate today, it's something that makes a difference every single day. 🌈✨

From welcoming children with a smile each morning, to creating exciting experiences after school and unforgettable Vacation Care adventures, our educators help children feel safe, supported, confident and inspired to learn through play.

🚨 IMPORTANT INFORMATION – AUSALERT TEST TODAY🚨

Today Monday 27 July 2026 at 2:00pm, a national AusAlert test will be sent to compatible mobile devices across Australia.

📱 This includes some:
• Mobile phones
• Smartwatches
• Tablets

Devices will vibrate and sound a loud emergency alert for around 10 seconds, even if they are on silent. A message will also appear on the screen clearly stating that it is only a test.

SOPA Families:
Please keep this in mind if your child has a mobile phone, smartwatch or tablet in their school bag during this time.

For domestic violence victims with a hidden safe phone, this could prove dangerous as the testing could alert a perpetrator to the presence of a hidden phone.

The only way to prevent a device from receiving the test alert is to turn it off or place it in aeroplane mode before 2:00pm.

This is a national test only and there is no cause for concern if your device sounds the alert.
