FLASHBACK FRIDAY!

Recognise these two familiar faces?

A little trip down memory lane to Miss Aimee’s very last day of Year 6 at Springbrook State School, which also happened to be Miss Hoskins’ first year as Principal!

Fast forward to 2026, and Miss Aimee is back at Springbrook, this time working as one of our wonderful teacher aides while studying to become a teacher herself. And Miss Hoskins? Well, she's still the principal!

We’re not entirely sure whether Miss Aimee has grown that much taller or Miss Hoskins has somehow gotten shorter… but we’re fairly certain neither has aged a day!

There’s something pretty special about watching our students grow up, follow their dreams and return to be part of the very school community they grew up in.

Learning and Growing Together isn't just our school motto — sometimes we get to see it come full circle!

Why Choose a Small School?

Small enough to know them. Big enough to grow them.

At Springbrook State School, being a small school is one of our greatest strengths. Our teachers know their students — their interests, strengths, challenges and next steps — allowing us to build strong relationships and create learning experiences that respond to the individual child.

Our students are given opportunities to learn, lead, contribute and grow in confidence, all within a caring and connected school community.

Every child known. Every child valued. Every child given the opportunity to thrive.

🌿 Playgroup is back for Term 4! 🌿

Join us every Monday from 9:00am–11:00am, starting Monday 12 October through to Monday 30 November, for a relaxed morning of play, connection and fun in our playground. ❤️💚

All families with children from birth to school age are very welcome — whether you already have a connection to Springbrook State School or simply live locally and would like to meet other families from the mountain.

Bring along a hat and a snack, and join Miss Karen for some fun, age-appropriate activities while the children play, explore and make new friends.

We’d love to see you there! 🌿

🌿 Prep 2027 Transition Program – Come and join us! 🌿

Our Prep Transition Program continues this term, with plenty of opportunities for our future Prep students and their families to spend time at Springbrook State School, meet our staff and become familiar with their new school environment. ❤️💚

A special addition to our program will be on Friday 13 November, when our Speech Language Pathologist will be visiting Springbrook State School and available to speak with prospective Prep families. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, discuss your child’s communication and language development, or learn more about the support available at school.

📝 Enrolments: Children do not need to have their enrolment forms completed to attend our transition days — everyone is welcome! However, families intending to enrol for Prep 2027 are encouraged to submit their enrolment forms by Week 9 of this term where possible.

Once enrolment forms are received, we will contact families to arrange an individual Enrolment Interview. This gives us an opportunity to get to know your child and family, answer any questions and support a smooth and positive transition into Prep.

👨‍👩‍👧 During our Prep transition sessions, families are asked to remain onsite; however, you are not required to stay in the classroom with your child. This gives children the opportunity to begin building confidence and independence while knowing their family is still close by.

📅 Our next transition session is Monday 19 October from 9:00am–9:30am, with Mrs Wright joining our school playgroup.

Come along, meet us and discover our small school with a big heart. 🌿❤️
