💛 R U OK? Day at St Margaret Mary’s 💛

Yesterday, we reminded our students that a simple question can make a big difference: “Are you OK?”

R U OK? Day encourages us to look out for one another, take the time to listen and let our friends, classmates and teachers know that they are never alone.

A smile, a kind word or checking in with someone can go a long way. 🌻💛

In the staff room, we also celebrated by sharing these delicious R U OK? cupcakes, made by Cupcake Queens. 🧁💛

What a fantastic morning at St Margaret Mary’s celebrating all the dads and special father figures in our school community! 💙👨‍👧‍👦

Our Father’s Day Breakfast had it all — delicious breakfast burgers 🍔, coffee from Offside Espresso ☕️ offsideespresso, ball games 🏉, a photo booth 📸 and plenty of laughs and time together! 😊💙

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers 🙌 who gave their time to help make the morning such a success. We truly appreciate your support! 👏💙

🎬 Behind the scenes of A Night at the Museum!

From rehearsals and costumes to the final moments before the curtain went up, here’s a little look at what happened behind the scenes of our school production.

So much hard work, teamwork and excitement went into bringing the show to life. A huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers and backstage helpers who supported with costumes, props, set changes, sound, lighting and everything in between. We couldn’t have done it without you! 👏✨

📚 Book Week 2026! 📚

Our Book Week Parade was a wonderful celebration of books, reading and imagination at St Margaret Mary’s!

Our students and staff came dressed as some of their favourite book characters, bringing the stories we love to life. It was fantastic to see the creativity and excitement across the school as we celebrated the joy of reading together.

A big thank you to our families for helping bring Book Week to life with such creative costumes!

Our students were treated to an unforgettable live performance today as Perform Education brought this year's CBCA Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, to life right on stage!
Through catchy music, high-energy acting, and interactive storytelling, the performative adventure brought a selection of the 2026 CBCA shortlisted books off the page and onto the stage.
We loved the inspiring messages focused on kindness, perseverance, creativity, and never judging a book by its cover. 📖 💙

🪩 School Disco Fun! 🪩

What a fantastic night at our school disco! Our students had a wonderful time dancing, laughing and enjoying an evening with their friends. With our DJ keeping the music going, delicious pizza to enjoy and fun decorations creating the perfect disco atmosphere, it was a night to remember!

A huge thank you to our amazing parent volunteers for organising such a fun-filled evening for our school community. We appreciate all the time and effort that went into making the night so special!

🌿 Connecting to Country at Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens

Our Years 3–6 students enjoyed an excursion to the Royal Botanic Gardens, taking part in a Connecting to Country session and exploring the gardens.

Students learnt about First Peoples’ culture and connection to Country, explored native plants and natural materials, and discovered how these resources have been used in everyday life.

A wonderful day of hands-on learning and exploration!

A big thank you to Naomi from Auslan Education Services for another fantastic visit!

Our students loved interacting with an Auslan interpreter, playing games, asking questions and practising their Auslan skills in a fun and meaningful way.
It was a wonderful opportunity to deepen their understanding of Deaf culture and communication.
