Last week, our Managing Director, Bibe Best, had the privilege of attending and chairing the 6th National Indigenous Empowerment Summit in Brisbane ๐
The summit brought together leaders, educators, community advocates and industry stakeholders to explore opportunities for advancing Indigenous empowerment through education, employment, leadership, and economic participation
As Chair, Bibe facilitated important discussions focused on collaboration, innovation and creating meaningful pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to thrive ๐ก
These conversations reinforced the importance of working together to build stronger communities and expand access to education and skills development โ values that are central to our mission ๐
We are proud to support initiatives that inspire positive change, foster inclusion and contribute to a more empowered future for all Australians ๐ โจ

๐ฃA Message from one of our Trainers ๐ฃ
Another block of training in the Diploma of Community Services (CHC52025) now complete in Darwin!
This group has completed 8 of the 20 units through immersive learning, combining interactive face-to-face sessions with online participation. This blended approach supports practical skill development while also aligning with pathways into further higher education studies.
We had a full room, along with students joining us online, all bringing diverse experience from across the sector โ housing services, youth justice (working with young people on detention or remand), legal services and others pursuing community services as a career of choice.
What stood out most was the richness of shared experience. Whether in the room or online, this was a space where we learned from each other, challenged perspectives and made meaningful connections while still having some fun along the way.
Iโm incredibly grateful to the students for the trust they showed, openly sharing both professional insights and personal experiences. These contributions deepen our understanding of the complex realities faced in community services and enrich the learning for everyone involved.
Itโs a privilege to facilitate learning in a space where knowledge, lived experience and connection come together.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this workshop such a valuable learning experience. I look forward to continuing the journey with you as we move through the remaining units together!

On 18 June, our Managing Director, Bibe Best, will be taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to help raise awareness and vital funds for Australians experiencing homelessness ๐
Homelessness in Australia is not always visible. It can look like sleeping in a car, couch surfing, living in temporary accommodation, escaping family violence or struggling to keep a roof overhead as rent and living costs rise.
In 2025 almost 289,000 Australians received support from specialist homelessness services, with housing affordability stress being one of the fastest-growing reasons people reached out for help. More than 100,000 people sought support because of housing affordability pressure alone.
At Star College Australia, we believe in the power of community, compassion, and creating opportunities for people to build better futures. The Vinnies CEO Sleepout shines a light on the challenges faced by thousands of Australians experiencing or at risk of homelessness every day.
We are incredibly proud of Bibe for supporting this important cause and joining other community leaders committed to making a real difference as every person deserves a safe place to call home ๐
If you would like to support the fundraising efforts or learn more about the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, follow the link attached or visit www.ceosleepout.org.au
Together, we can help create positive change in our communities๐

Today marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week 2026 โ a time to come together, reflect, learn and celebrate the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia
This yearโs theme โAll Inโ, is all about everyone playing a part โ whether thatโs through listening, learning, supporting one another, sharing stories or simply taking the time to better understand the communities around us๐ฟ
We are proud to work alongside students, communities and organisations across the country and value the knowledge, strength, resilience and connection that First Nations peoples bring to our classrooms and communities every day ๐ฌ
National Reconciliation Week is also a great reminder that small actions matter. A conversation, a shared experience, showing respect, learning something new, or supporting one another can all help create stronger and more connected communities for everyone ๐คฒ๐

At Star College Australia, we believe emotional health is just as important as physical health. ๐
Emotional Health Week is a reminder that taking care of your feelings, managing stress, and staying connected with others all play a vital role in your overall wellbeing. Life has its highs and lows โ and building strong emotional health helps us navigate both with resilience and confidence.
This week, we encourage our students, staff, and community to pause and check in with themselves. Whether itโs taking a quiet moment to reflect, reaching out to a friend, practicing gratitude, or doing something that brings you joy โ small actions can make a big difference.
Letโs work together to create a supportive environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered. ๐ฑ
How will you prioritise your emotional health this week?
