Indonesia Day Assembly 🇮🇩
Our Years 3–9 students had the wonderful opportunity to come together for our Indonesia Day Assembly, celebrating Indonesian culture.
We were honoured to welcome the Indonesian Consulate General and their team to the College for this special occasion. The Consul General addressed our students, sharing wonderful insights and reflections.
The assembly featured a beautiful program of performances, including a traditional contemporary Indonesian dance and performances by our College Choir. We were also delighted to have our very own Mrs Satrio perform the Indonesian National Anthem, “Indonesia Raya.”
We would like to acknowledge Ibu Elly Kurniawan for all of her tireless work, dedication and commitment in preparing our students for this special celebration. Ibu Elly organised the four Year 7 Indonesian Choir classes, bringing together 103 students, as well as the traditional contemporary Indonesian dance performance. The students worked incredibly hard, with students rehearsing three days a week for eight weeks in preparation for this special occasion.
Our students played an important role throughout the assembly, leading proceedings in Indonesian and providing English translations, showcasing their developing language skills and confidence.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students and College community to celebrate and appreciate Indonesian culture, language and traditions.
