What an exciting week of learning our students have had. Our whole school had the opportunity to take part in two fantastic incursions with students enjoying hands-on experiences designed to spark curiosity.

Our early years students stepped back in time to the world of dinosaurs. They were allowed to touch fossils of dinosaur claws and teeth and even a piece of fossilised dinosaur poo! They met James, the life-sized Tyrannosaurus Rex. He was taller that the classroom and his feet were bigger than our student's whole bodies.

Students in years 1-6 enjoyed an exciting science incursion, exploring chemical science which has been the focus of their studies this term. They explored the properties of materials, the power of gases by seeing a steam driven engine in action and how gas can pop the top off a container. Finally, they looked at the puzzle of bubbles - a gas in a liquid that acts like a solid. Students had an exciting time and enjoyed using their chemical science knowledge.

It was fantastic to see students across the school engaged, curious and excited about learning. A huge thank you to our wonderful presenters for bringing such engaging experiences to our students.

Some of our junior classes recently enjoyed a very special visit from players from the Fremantle Dockers Women's Team!

Students completed three health-focused activities centred on "being active", "being well", and "being healthy". They then had the exciting opportunity to put their learning into practice during a fun football skills session with the Dockers players.

Students learned a variety of football skills, participated in engaging activities, and had plenty of opportunities to move, practice, and have fun while staying active.

A huge thank you to the Fremantle Dockers players for taking the time to visit our school and inspire our students to embrace healthy, active lifestyles.

🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Staff! 🌟

We have so many fantastic staff at Yarralinka Primary School! Recently, staff had the opportunity to nominate colleagues who make a positive contribution to our students and school community.

On Friday 14 August, Miss Davey, Miss Gallant, Mr Coignet and Mrs Karamtallee (Mrs Bibi) represented Yarralinka at a network awards ceremony celebrating staff from schools across our area. All were voted to represent our school by their colleagues.

📢 P&C Meeting This Thursday

At our recent Annual General Meeting we were unable to fill all Office Bearer positions due to a lack of nominations. Without additional volunteers, our P&C may be unable to continue operating. This would be a significant loss for our school community and the opportunities the P&C provides for our students.

If you can help, please join us this Thursday and consider getting involved. Your support can make a real difference.

🍕🎉 Pizza with the Principal! 🎉🍕

Yesterday, selected students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 who achieved an incredible 95% or higher attendance rate in Semester 1 were invited to enjoy Pizza with the Principal. 🍕👏

These students have demonstrated a strong commitment to their learning by showing up, being engaged, and making the most of every school day. Their dedication and positive habits are setting them up for success, and we are proud to recognise their achievement.
