🚜 Farm Fun in Prep 🚜
Our Prep students have been learning about farms and agriculture in English, exploring farm animals and the important role farms play in our community. A highlight was visiting Collingwood Children's Farm, where they met animals, rode on a tractor, and fed guinea pigs!

🏉 AFL Gala Day in Year 5/6 🏉
Our Year 5/6 students demonstrated fantastic teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship at the AFL Gala Day at Fawkner Park last week. They represented SMPS with pride while showcasing their football skills and supporting one another throughout the day!

🐧 EcoCentre Excursion in Year 4 🐧
Our Year 4 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Port Phillip Bay EcoCentre, where they learned about Little Penguins, native plants, and protecting our environment. A highlight was spotting Little Penguins in the wild and helping clean up the beach.

🌿 Outdoor Science in Year 3 🌿
Our Year 3 students took their Science learning outdoors to investigate the features of different plants. Using Seesaw, they photographed and recorded their observations while developing their scientific inquiry skills.

🐞 Insect Stories in Year 2 🐞
Our Year 2 students have been writing informational narratives about insects, combining factual research with imaginative storytelling. We are so proud of the creativity and effort they have shown in their writing and illustrations.

🌋 Volcanoes in Year 1 🌋
Our Year 1 students have been exploring volcanoes as part of their Earth Inside-Out learning. They even created their own volcanoes while learning about magma, lava, and some of the world's most famous eruptions.

✏️ Writing in Prep ✏️
Our Prep students have been learning how to write full sentences, focusing on capital letters, full stops, and finger spaces. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and independence as writers continue to grow.

🏊 Swimming Program at SMPS 🏊
Our Grade 3–6 students are making a splash this week as they participate in our annual Swimming Program at MSAC! Throughout the week, students will be building their confidence and learning important water safety techniques.

🎉 Celebration of Learning at SMPS 🎉
We recently opened our classrooms for our Celebration of Learning afternoon, giving families the opportunity to see and celebrate the wonderful learning taking place across the school. The afternoon continued with a BBQ, face painting, bake sale, singing, and dancing in the forecourt. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success!

🎤 Year 6 Poetry Slam 🎤
Our Year 6 students showcased incredible confidence and creativity during this week’s Poetry Slam, inspired by their novel study Sister Heart. It was amazing to see students perform their original poems in front of peers and families. Well done, Year 6!
