Day Two of the 2026 RECSI Emergency Care Leadership Workshop is underway in Apia, Samoa!

Today's sessions are focused on developing the leader within us. This morning, participants heard from Miss Litara Loma Leilani Ieremia-Allan (Miss Samoa 2024-25 and Miss Pacific Islands 2025), who joined the workshop to share her perspectives and experiences with emergency care leaders from across the Pacific.

Participants also took part in an interactive personality type exercise, giving participants an opportunity to reflect on their own leadership and communication styles, better understand how they work with others, and consider how different personalities can contribute to stronger and more effective teams.

With clinicians and emergency care leaders from across the region learning alongside one another, Day Two continues the workshop’s focus on practical, Pacific-led leadership development, shared learning and connection.

Fa’afetai to the Samoa Ministry of Health for hosting us, and to our speakers, regional faculty and participants for continuing to share their knowledge and experiences.

The workshop is a collaboration between Pacific Islands Society of Emergency Care (PISEC), RECSI which is supported by the Australian Government through the Partnerships for a Healthy Region initiative, the Laerdal Foundation, the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre (NCCTRC), St Vincent’s Pacific Health Fund and the Pacific Community (SPC).

Talofa lava from Apia, Samoa!

AEAC Global Programs is delighted to join emergency care leaders from across the Pacific today for the opening of 2026 RECSI Emergency Care Leadership Workshop: Leadership for Pacific Emergency Care Systems Strengthening.

Regional colleagues will also share lessons from implementing WHO emergency care tools across the Pacific and Timor Leste.

The day will be practical, energetic and grounded in the Pacific experience, with plenty of opportunities to learn from one another.
