We’re proud to be part of Victoria’s statewide commitment to high-ability education as a centre of excellence -- and connecting high-ability students, schools and teachers with opportunities that inspire, extend and create pathways for future success.

Fantastic to see that students in Victorian government schools have so many opportunities to be challenged, supported and extended.

Wear It Purple Day 2026 -- Colours of Courage

Today at CHES, we’re proud to stand with LGBTQIA+ young people across Victoria and celebrate Wear It Purple Day.

This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, reminds us that courage can take many forms from speaking up and standing proud, to asking for support, being an ally, or simply having the courage to be yourself.

As a statewide community bringing together students from schools across Victoria, we know that our strength comes from the diversity of the people who make up CHES. Every student should feel that they belong and that they are respected for who they are.

Today, and every day, we celebrate difference, stand against discrimination and work to create a statewide community where everyone feels seen, supported and valued.

Our VCE Extended Investigation students recently came together at CHES for their Term 3 Seminar day - here in this video our students share some insights into the focus of the day.

Seminar days are held for each VCE subject at least four times across the year, bringing our students from around Victoria together at our CHES centre to connect and collaborate with each other and deepen their learning.

We hope this gives you a taste of what took place on our most recent Extended Investigation seminar day!

High-ability students thrive when they are challenged, engaged and supported. We’re delighted to share this new video from the Victorian Department of Education spotlighting our students here at the Centre for Higher Education Studies – especially Tanveer, Renae and Daniel. This video is part of a series of videos highlighting the range of opportunities available for high-ability learners in Victorian government schools:

At CHES, we’re proud to support students through challenging and enriching learning experiences, specialist VCE subjects, first-year university studies (Higher Education Studies), and opportunities to learn alongside like-minded peers from across Victoria. Alongside academic challenge, we recognise the importance of fostering curiosity, confidence, wellbeing and a genuine love of learning.

Thank you to the Victorian Department of Education for showcasing CHES as part of this important series celebrating high-ability education across our state.
